    BBC or SBC?

500HP and no emissions requirements would have me voting for a BBC, 396 punched out to 402, built up like the LS6 Chevelle motors would give you at least 450 FWHP, if not more. Squeezing that extra 50HP should be easy enough.

    Door Question

Wow. You must be blind! Squared Body Kodiaks and Top Kicks (or whatever they are called) share the same doors as the light duty trucks of the same year. The primary difference between the vehicles is in the front clip, although the firewalls may have some differences. The same goes for the OBS...

    Grand Prix Headlight Replacement

Great googly moogly, that is one ugly ass car. I haven't even bothered to clean mine off this winter. I might start driving it in the spring. As for those Craftsman ratchets, I love em. I keep breaking my 3/8" drives and my 1/2" drives, but, the 1/4" ones never fail me.

    Cab Support Channel

There are no cab supports that attach to any part of the inner fenders. In fact, the inner fenders do not attach to the cab at all on my truck. They only attach to the fender.

How many squarebodies do you currently own?

Just the one. Maybe one day I will get another one. Don't really have the urge to find another, unless it's a mint K5.

    Write up: Gas Tank Relocation

For rear collision protection, I would probably weld in a 2" square tube from frame rail to frame rail at the very back of the truck. Maybe evens stack 2 tubes for a 4"x2" tube. My Nova has the bumper filler and there is no way I would set up a truck like that. While I don't intentionally...

    Write up: Gas Tank Relocation

Nice write up. My only thought is I can see having something IN the bed that might block the fuel filler. If you don't relocate to a bumper filler, I'd consider moving the filler to behind the tail lamp and use small cabinet hinges to allow the light to swing out.

Which do perfer to buy tools from?

Anything I have bought from HF has broken on first use. All the tools that I have bought, besides some HF junk, are Craftsman. I have a small scattering of other brands, but, I got those from my dad.

    Show Us Your Man Cave

It's a mess, still haven't found a place for all the extra stuff that comes with combining two house holds, but, here's my cave.

How often do you change your oil ???

I think Shell is the only company around here that has their own fuel supply. I see Shell tankers all the time, but, never tankers for the other major companies.

How often do you change your oil ???

I try to buy my fuel exclusively from ExxonMobile. However, if I am in the right part of town, I'll fill up at BJ's. My thinking is that there should be a consistency in the fuel from across the brand, even though I know most of the stations around here get their fuel from a third party...

How often do you change your oil ???

My snowblower is over 40 years old and has all mechanical linkages and such. The new ones use all belts and other weak shit so they can't power through the shit that mine can touch. My only disadvantage is the tires.

How often do you change your oil ???

I had been religious about changing my oil every 2500 miles, but, I got lazy. In my Sierra, for example, I've been keeping an eye on the oil life monitor. When it gets to about 50%, that's when I change it. I don't know the exact specs that I use for my oil as I don't do my own oil changes in...

Ever have an itch you just had to scratch?

I have a Boulevard C50, 805CC, that I've spent 8 hours plus riding on. *Owie* I should have known better. After 2 hours on that bike it feels like I've been kicked in the nuts.

A 10yo Boy and his truck, with a purpose.

I worked for another company that was like that. I came up with 3 pages worth of faults and I was lectured about being too picky or some shit. Too picky? About safety? Does not compute.

A 10yo Boy and his truck, with a purpose.

It's not bad work if you can get into it. Of course, if the company has decent equipment they probably want people with experience operating their trucks. One of the guys I worked with had been towing for so long he'd worked up a good relationship with all the cops in the area. When he would...

A 10yo Boy and his truck, with a purpose.

Dude. I am by no means a mechanic by any stretch. Despite my willingness to take on a project, I don't know anywhere near as much as most people think I do. Before I left that towing company, I spent two weeks trying to fix stuff and get it even remotely capable of being road legal. The other...

A 10yo Boy and his truck, with a purpose.

Nawh, during my day shift, I made a steady hourly rate. At night, I made a comission on every call I took with the exception of AAA calls. No matter how long the call took, if it was an AAA call, I only made something like $5 for whatever work I did. I remember one night, it was pouring rain...

A 10yo Boy and his truck, with a purpose.

The company I was with was on both the City and State Police rotations as well as the AAA call list. My police calls were mostly DUI stops with very few wrecks. It seemed like most of the work I did was for AAA. That's a subject for few rants right there. As a driver, I hated AAA. As a...

A 10yo Boy and his truck, with a purpose.

Some people just need someone to blame. If he hadn't gone over for dinner, hadn't proposed, etc. then just MAYBE she wouldn't have gone back to his place and gotten killed on her way home. It's a leap at best, but, if you let go of the logic that we're looking at the story it can be a little...

A 10yo Boy and his truck, with a purpose.

One way or another, alcohol played a role in the dad's death. For all we know, he could have been walking home from the bar and he was hit by a car. I think they were intentionally vague, letting the view fill in the blanks, in respect for the boy's memory of his dad. It's hard to tell a story...

    Getting ready for winter..

I have two requirements for driving my vehicles. 1) You must show respect for vehicles in general. 2) You have to be able to cover the insurance deductible. If those two requirements are met, I'll consider letting you drive my vehicles. Although, I will admit, I will let someone borrow my...

    Minimum Character limit....

Personally, I hate smilies. If you notice, I use very few of them. Mainly the :) :( ones. I would much prefer if we couldn't simply post a smiley face and move on. This is a DISCUSSION board after all. The idea of posting nonsensical facial expressions without commenting is worthy of an AOL...
