The ground to any metal under the dash like the bolt that holds the lower portion of the dash to the cab. There is also a grounding tab on the left side of the dash behind the cluster. The hot back to a switched 12v source. You should be able to find one off the fuse box.

As others have said just remove the yellow wire from the red wires (leave the red wires connected) and put a inline fuse on the yellow wire and run it to one of the circled fuse box connections in the other picture. The second option is to delete the cig lighter and use the wire that was...

Yep that would do the trick.

    Pioneer Stereo

If I remember correctly the factory radio did not need a constant 12v source.

    Pioneer Stereo

Remove the yellow wire and find a constant 12 volt source like the wire that feeds your interior lights or cig lighter wire and splice in the yellow wire. Leave the two red wires in the picture connected together. Most of the time there is an orange wire that plugs into the fuse box that feeds...

Husky Air Compressor is popping circuit

The capacitors are cheaper than the motor so I would replace them.

That yellow wire needs to go to a constant 12V like the interior lighting. From the picture and what you describe it looks like they got the constant and the switched hooked up to a switch 12v.

Husky Air Compressor is popping circuit

Are you saying it pops the circuit breaker in the fuse panel of the house or the one on the compressor? If its the house one you may want to check the breaker. My compressor was doing the same thing and it was a bad breaker in the house fuse panel.

    Brake hose replacement

Most of the time the tin nut is not a that much of a problem. I can usually tap that loose with a long screw driver and small hammer.

    Brake hose replacement

Try removing the nut that holds the brake line to the frame and then pull the hard line and brake hose thru the frame towards the wheel. Just enough so you can get a wrench on the flare nut. You can then put a set of vice grips on the metal portion of the rubber brake hose and then use a flare...

    EBrake Light - Always On

Check around the e-brake assembly under the dash. There is sometimes a switch there that lights up that light if the e-brake is on. The other is located in the proportional valve which is located on the front cross rail of the frame. Just follow the lines down from the master cylinder. Could...

    New mini square

I agree, I have a set of Camaro rims like below that I smoothed and polished a long time ago for my daughter’s Blazer. We tried them this weekend but no go because the tie rod end hit the tire because is so low. Can't space the wheels out because they would be outside the fender and look like...

    Trouble changing turn signal switch

That sleeve opens up but the easy way to do it is to remove the upper mounting bracket from the column. Support the column, remove the screw from the transmission indicator wire and pull it away from the column. In the picture above it looks like you have the bolts removed from the column to the...

    Cluster F*** Timing

Pull the number one plug and rotate the engine by hand to find TDC on the compression stroke. Place a mark on the timing cover in an area where you can hit it with a timing light. Then place a mark on the harmonic balancer that corresponds to the mark you made on the timing cover. Use these...

    New mini square

My son’s f-150 was totaled early last week when an 82 year old man ran a red light and broadsided him. Luckily no one was injured. I was searching Craigslist for a replacement and came across this 1993 S-10 with 127,000 on the clock. Then I noticed the background in the pictures, it was a...
