    Spark plug wire recommendation

Thanks Mike and Rich, I'll take a look at them. That would be nice to be able to cut them to the length I need.

    Spark plug wire recommendation

I replaced my spark plug wires with some inexpensive ones from Rock Auto, but they don't fit quite right. So I'm looking for the correct wires for the truck it's an 86 with a 305ci, I think it's an H code engine whatever that means. Should I go with the AC Delco brand? I'd prefer ones that have...

    Bench seat adjustment

I'll have to look at it when the weather warms up a little like next week sometime. Maybe I can move the seat a little further back that's all I need. After moving it all the way back it moves a little forward it seems after locking in place. Thanks for the replies, I appreciate it!

    Coverlay

I bought one too a few weeks ago and it looks really nice compared to my old dash pad. I haven't glued it down yet because it's to cold out. I bought mine from www.jcwhitney.com for around $100. also with free shipping. I used a 20% off coupon I found online. I was anxious to install mine when...

    Bench seat adjustment

Thanks for the replies, at least I'm not the only one, I didn't think I would be. The steering wheel is kind of close too but my main problem is the gas pedal position too. It's just to close which makes it uncomfortable after driving a little while. I guess we just have to live with it. I had a...

    Bench seat adjustment

I just bought the truck a few months ago and I haven't driven it vey much. I have the stock bench seat adjusted all the way back and it's not very comfortable as far as my leg position. I'm 6' tall so I would think I would have more leg room. The truck's an 86 with a standard cab. Does anyone...

    Factory tachometer installation

That looks good, how did you mount it in there?

    Factory tachometer installation

Thanks adamj for the information, it sounds like the one from gm sports salvage the way to go. I thought about mounting a small tach in the opening where the clock goes but I'm not sure if that will mount in there correctly, if at all.

Unable to post in the wanted section

I did try ebay, but I will try a local junk yard when the weather warms up a little, there's no big rush. Thanks

Unable to post in the wanted section

Okay thanks, it shouldn't take me long to get there, lol. I'm looking for the rod for the cruise control that goes from the servo to the carburetor on a 86 C10 with a 305, mine's missing.

    Very stiff steering...gear box?

I had a 60 C10 and it was a bear to steer I thought when I got it. I installed power steering and it was a big improvement and more enjoyable to drive.

I'm trying to post an ad in the wanted section but it says I don't have administration privileges. Can an administrator fix this for me? Thanks

    Factory tachometer installation

Thanks, I actually did find the thread you mentioned. I'll have to give it some thought. I might try mounting a small 2" tach where the clock goes since it's blank there anyway. Thanks again! Joe

    Gauge cluster question

I believe you have to pull the steering wheel to remove the old ignition switch and the new one should just slide in and lock in place. It's been a while since I replaced one though.

    Factory tachometer installation

That looks very nice and looks stock which is what I prefer. How was the install fairly easy?

    Factory tachometer installation

Thanks J Knight, for the link. That's definitely an option, and I like the stock look.

    Factory tachometer installation

I'm sure this has been covered, I did a search and nothing came up. I was wondering if it's possible to install a factory tachometer where the fuel gauge is or possibly where the clock would go. I could just mount one externally too that would be a much cheaper route to go too. My trucks a 1986...

    New guy here from Illinois

I enjoy watching them, he's a pretty smart guy. He reminds of someone I knew that used to re-store mainly British cars and did it all from engine rebuilding to paint, upholstery, etc, he was a cool guy. I haven't seen that episode, I'll have to check it out.

Welcome from another new guy. Nice looking Blazer and the color looks great too! I had an 87 and it was a two-tone blue and was very dependable. Joe

    New guy here from Illinois

Thanks for the positive replies. I always like that color and the stepside bed. I guess that's why I bought it, it should be nice with a little work done to it. I've been watching a show on youtube called Redneck Restorations, this old truck and that's been motivating me too. Merry Christmas! Joe

Thanks for the warm welcome, here's a few pictures of the truck. It looks better in the pictures than in person.

    New guy here from Illinois

Hello, I just joined today, I just bought a 1986 C10 short bed step side, that needs a little work as they all do. I bought it from a out of my state dealer sight unseen, that was a mistake. It's not as nice as the pictures look but it's a one owner. I have the original title proving that and...
