Yes, there are better compressors available that are more efficient with current refrigerants. Sometimes I get swayed by my inclination to RESTORE rather than Modify.....LOL- Donald vonMinden

Good morning and Welcome....!! I have a K10 pickup 1977 and the cab rubber goes all around the door on the body of the truck. Also, the door has a piece of weatherstripping rubber around the top, as it goes from the trim area at the bottom of the window near the door lock handle, all the way...- Donald vonMinden

I hope you do not mind my comment..... but also pay attention to the striker bolts where the latch mechanism clamps onto the body near the door handle. BBC 396 wil not idle with any carb
I agree with snoots. A high lift camshaft will idle really rough and "lope" at idle. Also, check for leaks around the gasket between manifold and cylinder head, especially if you have eliminated the possibility of a vacuum leak there. Hey, Long time squarebody owner, 1977 K10 and 1974 K5 blazer, both are restoration projects. It looks to be a long road for me, but I am ready. Bought the 77 brand new and my father left his 74 when he passed. Both have been sitting for 10 plus years unused. Wish me luck!!- Donald vonMinden
