Can you post a link to the GS Power 4x6s? All I can find are their larger ones.

    LED quad headlights?

Sorry, but I have no experience with eBay LED headlights - but have you checked out Dapper Lighting? They are based here in Northern California and are a great company to work with. I have used a couple of their round sets. The company is relatively small and they keep updating their...

Project: 83 C30 Crew Cab Big Brown Turd

My brown bed floor was pretty abused, so I picked this one up kinda locally. Mounted it last night, it still sits a little low on the passenger's side. I have a replacement front bed panel that I put in epoxy primer last night. Going to mount it this weekend and see if it pulls that side up...

Well this showed up today and it's not even Christmas. And yes I do make my kids hold up my purchases for my toys. That way I know that I will have photos of my kids. Toyo 265/35-22s are on the way! 265/35-22 Toyos should be here in a day or two

Big Chip, what problem did you have with the Bell Tech Spindles? And yes, mine are definitely Bell Techs.

Grit Dog, yes the SRW is 67" vs the DRW 72" WMS to WMS (wheel mounting surface) and the idea is to keep the tires tucked under stock outer fenders. The bed fenders will be widened by 4"

The new (old) SRW rear end will be getting new brakes and lines, cleaned up and maybe shot in epoxy prior to installation.

I think that is just the photo not really showing it too well. It is a machined surface. I am more concerned with the big ol din in it.

Yes sir, the dually rear end is 72" WMS to WMS (wheel mounting surface) and the SRW 14B is 67" WMS to WMS This is supposed to allow the 22" Alcoas to tuck under the stock fenders using the 8x10 adapters. We will see what happens!

Spindles showed up in a pretty trashed box. Pulled them out and one of them has a pretty good ding in it, I think that is where the grease seal is supposed to sit...

    Paint quantity and type?

6 gallons is ridiculous, the Envirobase is soooo nice to shoot. And the coverage is very good. Where I shoot in my Pig Barn shop it works out awesome as the flash times are very quick as I am in Northern California and it can hit 100 degrees in the Pig Barn shop during the summer. Then I...

    Paint quantity and type?

Quite a few folks over on one of the paint forums have had excellent luck with Tamco's products. I use their 2104 HS (High Solids) clear on everything that I do, but I'm still fairly new and only have done smaller items. That trunk lid off of my 65 Caddy is pretty much the largest piece that I...

    Paint quantity and type?

Bring it on, though painting is really more of the prep, body working the steel, shoot some high build, block sand, shoot some more high build, sand some more, then followed by more sanding.... Bring that Chevy over with the prep done and I'll shoot it!! No guarantees though!

    Paint quantity and type?

Paint quality and coverage vary quite a bit even between one brand's different lines. Over on one of the paint forums they will bash Omni BC quite a bit. Myself, I like to use either Tamco's solvent based paints or PPG Envirobase ($$$$) then I use Tamco 2104 clear over either one. But I am...

Still collecting parts: Got my front springs, drop spindles. My C-notch & Flip kit should be here tomorrow. Got most of my front end parts sitting on the desk, tie rod ends, ball joints, pitman arm etc. Ordered some new front disks from Rock Auto Still waiting on my 22" Alcoas and 8x10 adapters.

Wellllllll, things change. I was going to use the rear end out of the Suburban parts truck, then I found an old school junk yard that had a real 14B SRW rear end in great condition with 3.42 gear ratio. So I loaded up the little woman and drove on up there - I know "How romantic, what a guy!"...

Yes sir, that is correct. The SRW rear end narrows up the track width to tuck the 22" Alcoas under the fenders after lowering.

Thanks again for the info. I just went out and checked and the spring pad mounts on the 3/4 ton Suburban rear end are at 42" C to C. And the shocks are outboard of the frame. I haven't yet measured the WMS spacing but I am assuming it is at 67.5" So my options are; Cut off and re-weld some...

I do have a pretty good source for 14B SRW rear ends. Are there certain years of SRW rear ends that I need to stay away from or that I should be looking for?

Thanks for the info. How do I tell if it is a semi-float vs full float? Though I don't think that semi vs full float in my application will matter that much as I will not be loading up the bed or a lumber rack with big loads. Sounds like it is the spring perches that I need to worry about...

Project: 83 C30 Big Brown Turd

Got out my little pressure washer to start getting the years of dirt and grime off of it. Started eyeballing stuff and making a mental plan for now, which includes: A. Throw a battery in it and start testing the PW/PLs B. Yanking the PW/PL wiring harness out C. Checking to see if the PW/PL work...
