    DIY shackle flip

Yes something like this. Thought also crossed my mind. Super easy but would have to nail the angle just right when installing. I would think it would be the same as the ord. 1 or so forward. Thats a hell of a idea. One would need say a 6x6 or a angle iron 6 by 6 so the top is not welded...

    DIY shackle flip

So I did some browsing this morning and found a bunch of pictures. The thought of doing a shackle flip never really crossed my mind but since my suburban body is not on the frame I'm kinda crazy not too. Here's a shot of someone who has cut the factory hanger. I just don't think its the best...

    DIY shackle flip

So here's my idea and try to leave as much of the factory hanger. That boxed in c channel would get welded Over top of the existing spot where the bolt goes through. I think I could get roughly about 45 degrees or more of shackle movement both ways. Think that's lots or no? This is a shot of...

    DIY shackle flip

Articulation is a concern but I only got hills were I live so there isn't going to be to much flexing going on. I have 2 inch blocks in right now so I would take them out and I would get a 2 inch lift my springs are a little saggy. Thats my plan and also welding a cap on the end of the c...

    DIY shackle flip

Ok so I came across this picture the other day and I got to thinking cause for me to order and ship a shackle flip is like 600 buck CAD. Crazy expensive. So what if I left the factory hanger there. Cut the bottom out and weld in a c channel on the top of it and a couple of braces on the top...

    Removing bed bolts

I've done it a few different ways. Making small tac welds on them to the box. Grinding the whole head off. My best one is Welding a nut to the top of the bolt.

    Ideas for missing headliner

I'm in the same boat as you. Mine got destroyed by roof rack leaks. I will say though you will thank yourself the sooner you get insulation up there. I got some fancy half inch foil backed insulation and sprayed glued it up there and tin taped the seams. I'm probably going to take it down and...

    180* Upside down Steering Wheel

You could measure your tie rods and see if there the same from side to side. I have a 4x4 so I have a drag link and I will say it doesn't take much to move the steering wheel.

Can your granny open your trucks door?

I think alot has to do with weather stripping pressure. And the absolute correct position of the door pin. The only way my kids get my doors open is if they either use all there thumbs to push or hip check the door while pushing the button. I prefer the all thumb method but sometimes were in...

I want to drive an '89 suburban 700 miles home, what should I know?

Check the front end. If you have a pickle fork throw that in the tool bag. Easy to change drag links or tie rods and measure tape for a quick alignment. If you have a cordless grinder that would be good too. If the fuel pump dies its way easier cutting a hole then dropping a tank on the side of...

Odd cable/control going to foot feed.

I've seen them installed for hydrolic winches. Pump is on the motor and need something to hold throttle for more pressure. Or maybe someone wanted to do a weldanator.

    Electric Fan Conversion

Ford windstar for the win. One does hate fords but they do have good electric fans. I have the drivers side fan connected to a temp switch and a relay. And the other fan is on a toggle. Never had to flip it once. The one fan keeps me at a perfect temp at a red light and shuts off once I get...

    High Idle 84 chevy C20 w/350

Sorry I missed this. I got my notifications turned off. It looks pretty clean there. Choke looks pretty newish or you did a real good job of cleaning it. Its is electrical so with the key one check to see if its got 12 volts. Your other stuff and possibly it not running right could be grounds...

    Steering stabilizer removal

Mine was one unit. No bolt or threads on the end. And of course my new one didn't come with mounting hardware. So had to order a new one with the fancy bolt and sold the other one to my buddy.

    High Idle 84 chevy C20 w/350

I agree with krausmotorsport check for vacuum leaks. Right off the bat. Did you try kicking it down sometimes a choke can be sticky and need a good kick down to release it. On your carburetor on the passenger side is your choke. Some are electric and some are ran by heat from the intake. Once...

    Suburban Back to OE Grille

You can leave the radiator connected to the truck still. It will fit. If you have a transmission cooler out front you may have to disconnect same with power steering cooler if you have one. You will use the same battery tray and evap canister holder, Hood latch, hood latch support. Parts are...

    Steering stabilizer removal
