What could it be? I'm about to poop on the floor.

Cam 2 racing fuel here is 8 bucks a gallon. The local airport sells aviation fuel for 6 bucks and will gladly pump your jugs full. Its leaded like the Cam2 and makes a pretty chalky white tail pipe.

Non ethanol 90 is the same as 93 here, about 2.79. And its easy to find here in the Rockfish Capitol of the World! I reckon that's one good thing about NE NC.

What could it be? I'm about to poop on the floor.

I think he did. All that time and trouble over bad gas, damn. Non ethanol is easy to find in eastern NC, I use it unless Im somewhere that don't sell it. I can assure that after a year in my generator it still starts right up. Im putting fresh fuel in the generator this weekend though and will...

    driveablity, carbs, gas tank... blah

I know from an old friends experience who put a non vented cap on an old Chevelle. A couple days later the engine died and there was so much vacuum on the tank that it collapsed looked like a beer can that had been stomped. It only held five or six gallons after that. Same could happen if a vent...

Add One-way valve to keep fuel at the carb? '86 Burb 454

Just to follow up, after a week of driving to work in my C10 and a weekend of Food Lion runs on my K10 I believe my fuel problem is behind me. Ill keep an eye on both over the next couple weeks then replace the see thru filters with all metal units.

Add One-way valve to keep fuel at the carb? '86 Burb 454

Exactly. I had lifted the bed on both trucks and replaced the pickup/strainer units and the rubber linesat the tank and also where they turn under the passenger side cab. Just never thought the metal lines may be clogged. I figure that any part you replace on a 35 year old truck is a good thing...

Add One-way valve to keep fuel at the carb? '86 Burb 454

Thanks suburble for starting this thread, and thanks to the helpful forum members for all the advice, I bought an electric pump Saturday and started with the C10 since its my daily driver. First I pumped straight from a can through the filter into the carb. The filter filled up, stayed full and...

Add One-way valve to keep fuel at the carb? '86 Burb 454

Ive been going through the same issues, although I have a 5-7 psi fuel pressure reading even when the filter appears empty or half full or full. Ive did several things that helped but the less than full filter still happens. This is on two trucks, a 86 C10, fresh 355, new Edelbrock 600 and...

    Vapor lock

Good story, and I have after market breathers on all my trucks pulling engine bay air.

    Vapor lock

The gas cap switch is good advice, although it wasn't my problem. When I was younger a friend of mine put a non vented cap on his Chevelle and the fuel pump collapsed the tank! And I only switched to the plastic filter when I suspected a starvation issue, I needed to see the flow. You may have...

    Vapor lock

I never really thought about the filter melting. Damn. And a metal can will also keep me from seeing the bubbles. Then maybe I wont wear my hood hinges out looking at that filter every day!

    Vapor lock

Good advice about the glass filter and rerouting, I use the clear plastic filters by the way and have them mounted pretty close to the carbs.

    Vapor lock

Ive battled this problem for a while now. Bubbles in the filter, mostly empty filter, Edelbrock starving for fuel at random times. Things I did to my 86C and my 84K are new fuel pick up/sender units, thinking that the sock was clogged. It wasn't. Changed out rubber lines at tank, under cab and...

Best Way to Get Rid of Rattly Early Fuel Evaporation (EFE) Valve

I took the flap out of one and welded up the holes and put it back since the p.o. had a new exhaust system ran and I didn't want to pay to fill the void. I know its cast but it took the weld and has held up for two years now.

    Aluminum radiator suggestions

I got one on ebay, around 200 bucks. Seemed cheap for an aluminium unit but it looks, fits and works very well.

    Tach options

Ive installed tachs in both my trucks, after market units feed off a plug that's already on your distributer if you have electronic ignition. Real simple.

    Square on the Interstate

Well don't get me wrong, the truck and I both would like another gear but, it is what it is. The C10 became my daily driver when my daughter totaled her car and I gave her my VW JETTA.

    Square on the Interstate

Interesting thread here. My 86 C10 sees 250 mile trips on I-95 on a regular basis and short trips daily. 3000 rpm at 75 mph and feels right at home. Carbed 355, TH400 and I believe 343 gears. Rear tires are 275/60 15 and 28" dia. 3000 used to seem kind of high but now seems normal, my 84 K with...
