    Steering slop

did you lift it to fit 33's? a dropped pitman or raised steering arm will get your draglink level and keep your geometry right. would check the pitman, drag link, steering arm, tie rod ends, ball joints for slop and as mentioned, the rag joint. i too run a redhead with 38's and it steers with...

Is rear side window identical on 1990 Burb and 1980s dual/bonus cab?

the sub doors and winda's will fit the crewcab. the only diff is the earlier trucks have, besides a different style door panel, is the door linkage to open the door is slightly different. i'm running '77 rear sub doors on my '85 crew. i did have to re-bend the door rods for the handle slightly...

    Fuel gauge reading past full

when my gauge went to 3 o'clock about 10 yrs ago, i had no ohm meter so i basically did everything you've done with zero results. new switching valve, new grounds, etc, etc, etc. kept pissing in the wind hoping for a better result and getting nothing. i figured there had to be something wrong...

    Fuel gauge reading past full

if it looks like this, then your sender wire is grounding out somewhere. pink wire for later trucks and tan i belive for older trucks. quick easy way to check, run a wire from your 4 plug under the hood to the switching unit. if your gauge goes back to normal, start tracing your pink (or tan)...

    Pissing match

dangerous?? hardly. when you aim them properly it's no big deal. and the fact there twice as bright just shows how crappy the stock sealed beams were. there also DOT approved anyway

    EFI Conversion

depends on where you live. being out in the flatlands, a well tuned carb would do fine. i put efi in my truck cause i live in the mountains, doesn't matter if i'm at sea level or 8000ft up, runs the same all day whatever the altitude. plus being a 4x4, i have no off camber starvation issues...

    Duel Tank Question

the pump will run whenever the key is on and getting a signal from the ecu. if the pump relay was bad you would't be able to start your truck, and in the event of a stall or even a crash, then it would be getting a no run signal from the ecu...last thing ya want is 45 psi fuel spraying...

    Duel Tank Question

ya, it doesn't look like my throttle body either...it does look almost like a 2 barrel. every pro flo i've seen is a 4 throater, but every thing else looks edelbrock all the way. maybe someone changed or used a diff throttle body, meaning it would have to be a pf2 or pf3 as there is no...

    Front driveshaft clunk

as mentioned, i would check the cv ball first. when you say you removed metal in the cv, did you mean the angle stops? i had to grind mine out, first time out it sounded horrible and kept binding and grabbing. their the little bumps inside the cv limiting how far they can go (angle-wise)

    Spring Lift Ride Question

this unless you spend mucho bucks for custom rear springs, lifted leaves will ride worse than your stock leafs. one thing to think about also, will you be hauling loads with the truck? i orig had 8" lift springs all the way around on my truck, but after carrying my camper and quads for TWO yrs...

    Duel Tank Question

it is possible your truck was factory fi being an '87 and having in tank pumps, but i seriously doubt there is in tank pumps now. if you had in tank pumps, installing the pro flo external pump would be unnecessary. your pump is a Walbro and their extremely reliable, and have more than enough...

    Duel Tank Question

the older pro-flo's (1,2,3) use external pumps. i'm assuming he wasn't running a pf4 as he says the resto is a few yrs old. if it is a 1, 2, or 3, it is wired correctly. after thinking about what he has said, i would be checking the selector valve for obstructions, fuel out the weep hole, or...

welcome good to see another BC'er here. ya, bigger tires will slow down your rpms. i have 4:56's in my crew, with the T400 and stock tires, my 454 would be wound right up at around 35-3600 rpm at 55-60 on the freeway. with my 38's on it, it comes down to a little more reasonable 29-3000 rpm's...
