    Aux Battery Tray

Lol, I do that all the time with my Geo Metro...load 400lbs of crap in the back and try to drive home...because I can afford to drive to buy crap off craigslist when I get 50mpg but not if I drive the truck at 8mpg, lol. To make it real fun, I bring the wife. ;)

    Aux Battery Tray

Nice setup, the extra weight on the pass side would balance out my fat ass being in the drivers seat, lol.

    Aux Battery Tray

Honestly, unless you want factory look, just buy a tray bottom, a 4' piece of 1/4"x2" flatbar, make your own mount brackets, weld bar to tray and hole on other ends to mount with bolts, paint and install. Easy peazy.

    TrueTrac for rear axle...likes/dislikes?

As stated, looking for everyone's likes/dislikes of the Truetrac set up in a rear axle. This is not for a square body, just big heavy truck, my 05 Dodge 3500 4x4 diesel crew cab. It's factory open diff, so literally sucks in snow. Looking at installing a Truetrac instead of a locker since I tow...

Swapping the SM465 for a Car style 4 speed

I used a set of Cadillac buckets in mine to clear the shifter since it hit the stock bench seat. Also used a hurst comp plus with a t handle since it was taller and easier to reach.

    Burning excessive oil!! Need advice.

Just curious again, what happens when you add oil to a cylinder after taking a compression check then check it again? If it's rings, the number should go up from what I've observed before.

    Burning excessive oil!! Need advice.

Don't mind my simple questions, first when you check compression, do you have the choke open and the throttle wide open? Next thing is you said that 5,7, 2 and 4 get fouled the worst...noticed that at least 5,7 and 2 are the higher compression cylinders. Next, did you or someone else fit the...

Swapping the SM465 for a Car style 4 speed

I ran a 3 grove Saginaw in a '71 C10 longbed with a rumpity 350 and 3:43's. It was really fun while it lasted, smoke the tires everywhere....but got in sand once and hopped the rear and split the case instantly, lol. Swapped in a super T-10, that held up till I got rid of the truck. The weight...

    Secret Squirel Kill Switch Ideas

Probably quite a few of us that have one floating around, lol. I don't like fords, but I have the ford squarebody rival, a '73 F250 highboy, lol. Hi, my name is Jeremy and I own a ford...

Learning as I go, but I'm stumped. Timing or an ignition issue?

Straight up brutal advice...you've stated you're a noob on shit like this already and this is obviously beyond the internet mechanic fix so either can shell out and pay for a knowledgeable mechanic to tear into your motor and figure out the problem because seeing is believing OR sell it on...

    Secret Squirel Kill Switch Ideas

Most manual vehicles came with an anti-millennial theft switch called the neutral safety switch. Not only can they not figure out how to start it, if they accidently do, still can't figure out how to make it move, lol. Seriously though, I used to just have a master switch on the dash labeled...

    Welding problems

Might check your nozzle and make sure the Teflon liner is still good. Also, want to lay cable out straight and try to feed wire through to gun by hand with tip off, there should be little to no resistance.

Air Spring kit Major Fabrication Required

Think you are sort of screwed with that set up. Maybe someone else will chime in on this, but pretty sure you need the air bag over the spring. If you make some bracket inboard over to the spring, most likely will have side twisting of the leaf which could cause a few issues, too much side...

    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

Seen this on craigslist, thought it was pretty cool. https://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/d/davenport-1980-gmc-1ton-step-side-pickup/7219237882.html Too bad it was not 4x4.

Strength of 3 inch C channel???

I also fill the holes in my ramps between the cross bars with walkway grating so it's more of a smooth surface and tire dropping in between rails doesn't happen anymore.

    Title problems, vin swap?

What works in Washington state is I have a buddy with a tow yard. I let him say it's impounded for a month or so, then he goes to the state and says fees owed not paid and gets a title for it. I do some minor mechanic or electrical work for him to return the favor.:)

    Ford Trash Talk Thread lol

I can vouch for my latest 283...the '63 sat on a hillside for 10+ years, possibly 15, brought it home, checked the oil and antifreeze, put a battery in and filled the carb bowl. Two cranks and it fires, lol.

Strength of 3 inch C channel???

What I did on a few non dovetail trailers I had was welded on 2" round mounts at front corners of the trailer so I could temp mount some crank landing gear and lift front of the trailer so nothing dragged in the back. When done, just pulled em back off and threw then in the chain box.

    Ford Trash Talk Thread lol

Honestly, part of the reason I became a chevy nut in high school. Making a nice $5.25/hour pretty much determined that since chevy parts easily cost half most of the ford parts to hop something, all I could afford was old novas, lol.

Am I Cursed by the Carburetor Gods? Or do I just suck with Carburetors?

I had real similar luck with an old 230 in a 65 nova I had, single barrel. Seemed like nothing I did could get it to run right over idle...if I could even get that. Original carb, rebuilt it, would go too rich to where exhaust manifold would glow from exhaust overtemp just trying to get damn...

    What do we have here?

Anything is possible if you have a welder and a box of zip disks, lol. For example, my 63 c3600 I just picked up. Originally came as a cab and chassis dually with 133" wheelbase, it went to chinook and got the custom camper mounted on it. When that got destroyed, they mounted a stake side with...

What new tools have you got lately?

Sweet score! I like the little pipe threader kit and pipe taps...also the knock out punches.

    Monza's many other projects

Got it running today and took it for first drive. New rear brakes, master, rebuilt carb, battery and fuel pump. Forgot how slooooow low gears are. Down driveway in 4th chugging along at 25 mph, lol
