What years will Instrument clusters work for an 86 with auto trans and a/c?
Basically. They interchange from 1976-91. But, if you want to retain your 1986 cruise control, 1983-91. If you find a manual trans cluster, just swap in your original 1986 transmission shift indicator plate and needle. If you have an OD 700R4 and find a 1983 TH350 cluster, again, just swap out...- BadBowtie

Wheel almost fell off while driving…help
I would replace ALL of the wheel studs AND buy new lug nuts if it were my truck. Adding those massive tires do wonders to 35+ year old wheel studs. Be safe- BadBowtie

85 grille to 82 grille swap questions
You will either need to grab the 1981/82 front bumper and run your turnsignals down there or make some custom brackets to use your factory 1983-87 parking lights behind the 1981/82 grill without provisions for grill mounted turn signals.- BadBowtie

Best split bench option
Yes I did for sure. The 1988-94 is just a thinner seat, top to bottom. The foam is more dense, yet sits comfortably too. -

Both fit just fine. The 60/40 is just harder to install because of the transmission, and making another set of 1980s seat tracks bolt down in the center of the cab. -

700r4 speedo port not spinning at all.
I've only seen it one time in my 52 year life, but the driven gear inside and on the tailshaft has a small metal clip. The clip had broken on this truck that kept that inside gear locked on the transmission shaft. Then the gear was push back down the shaft so the drive and driven gear didn't...- BadBowtie

Random Service Engine Soon light
I was going to ask what year we are dealing with. Sounds like a 1987-91 now. I had a 1983 truck with a worn out 305cid. The CEL would come on when she ran 2 quarts (or more) low on oil. That is that 2nd oil pressure sensor, down by the oil filter. Just more data for someone else....- BadBowtie
