    Tv cable

I will do it for $8400. I will even give you a hug after. I all seriousness I would use a local shop if they are price competitive. Jasper offers 3 year/100,000 mile warranty. Parts and labor on their remans.

    Loose timing chain replacement

It is a 305 not a race motor. Stick with standard chain type. It was good for all these years, why go through the work and cost for no benefit?

    Loose timing chain replacement

I am about to replace my timing chain too. Mine is on a 7.4L but it is the same design. As was said above, turn the engine until the two dots line up. Then remove the cam gear bolts and cam gear and chain. Remove the crank pulley. Install new parts in reverse order. Finger tighten bolts then...

    Hydroboost - Hard Pedal

You do have it plumbed correctly? If the fluid is aerating it may actually be overheating. Do you have a p/s cooler?

    O2 Sensor

You can use a heated O2 sensor. You will have to wire up the heater circuit but that would not be hard to do.

    Buying a rebuilt transmission th350

My V3500 has a TH400. Original transmission cracked a year or so ago. It still drove and shifted fine. Just leaked like a sieve. I tried to find a used unit to rebuild but people wanted too much so I bought a rebuilt unit.

    Buying a rebuilt transmission th350

Your transmission is not having issues? Then do not touch it. Clean the pan, fit a new filter and fill it back up. Why fix something that isn't broke. Who needs more crap laying around for "just in case"?

    Buying a rebuilt transmission th350

I can't answer your question about the spline for transfer cases but there are differences in tailshafts and it is important to get the right transmission to fit your truck. TH350 internals are the same there are case and other variations. If you are handy and can follow instructions there is...

    Buying a rebuilt transmission th350

Should fit. Look up your truck and the truck it came out of on an auto parts store website. if both part numbers are the same, you are good to go. I personally would rebuild the one you have, unless of course the case is damaged.

Skool me on timing w/o timing tab

If you can mark TDC just use a timing light with advance. I haven't needed to time an engine in probably 15 years but I still have my old timing light. Looks like this one.

    Highway vibration 55-65mph

I am a field engineer for a major car company. I deal with vibrations all the time. Just because tires are new does not mean they are good. Road Force is a trade name used by Hunter for radial runout of a tire. Hunter usually measures it in Pounds. The Hunter machines can be set for hundredths...

please recommend a transmission dipstick that isn’t junk.

I just ordered a Pioneer brand dipstick tube for my V3500. I get it Monday. I am hoping it fits well. My original one the bracket is missing. If it does not fit right I will try and make a bracket and weld it on. I will let you know how it fits. Around here Junk Yards are a thing of the past...

    First major project vehicle!

For a few years, 1988-1991, GM built both Squarebody trucks and the new style trucks. For 1987 they renamed the C and K series to R and V. In 1988 the C and K series was the new style truck and the R and V series was a squarebody. They did this because they had to fulfill the military contract.

'87 GMC Suburban V1500 1/2 ton - replacing leaf springs

It is all good. Tone does not come across in posts. Gasoline weighs just over 6lbs per gallon depending on temperature, of course. Water is 7 lbs. I would have thought it was heavier too but was surprised when I checked. As someone said above, Just use 7lbs per gallon. Water is a good one to...

1986 C20 r12->134a conversion now fries every OEM/ACDelco original style compressor installed

I have converted many vehicles to R134a from R12 over the years. Never had any issues. GM, Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Volvo, Jaguar, VW, Audi.....and more. I have some questions. 1. When you replaced the compressor did you drain the oil from the new compressor? (They get shipped, typically, with...
