    No lol. Simply unplug alternator plug while idling to see if the sound goes away or comes back. Assuming the sound is now heard all the time. Or is it literally on an off sound with a/c on and off? Plug Should look like this.

    I really like those Dodgers but only personally into the 12 valve. Worked on enough 24s to know why. I think it's cool you had a diesel tempo, WTF?? Cool!!. My Grandma had a white 1990 tempo gasser I got from her. Brought back some good memories then I sold it to a friend.

    I personally don't see any rust. There's surface rust but I don't see pitting or anything. Wire brush and shoot it with semi gloss and be looking good.

    I only use ATF. Wonder if those pumps don't like the fluid. Maybe try atf instead. I know that the reman pumps and boxes from Napa are all tested in the factory with merc5. Maybe that's the whole problem??
