    Wash off all the crud, dirt, oil. Check the oil level. Look for leaks after the differential is cleaned

    Got my 2nd new drive shaft from Tom Woods in Utah. Ok this one looks Right. Unlike that Dorman I returned to Rock Auto I got the heavy duty full length spline

    Muffler recommendations

    Ive got 2 long turbo 18"-20"mufflers 18"-20" dual exhaust, IIRC they are Summits TM. They werent expensive fancy name brand. They have been on my truck for at least 30 years with Doug Thorley tri-Y- headers. I installed & welded the alumi coated pipes myself. All are still in excellent condition.

    I always polish seal contact areas even with a worn grove, with 400 grit wet or dry sand paper, make sure the grove area gets good attention so its smooth and wont tear up the new seal, maybe go to 600 grit too. I Never use speedi sleeve. Smear some clean grease on the surface and on the seal...

    My slip yoke is worn bad Spline shaft of the slip yoke need to be cut off on a lathe and weld new spline onto the shaft tube and then balance. Job for a drive shaft shop. Sure the rest i can do my self I found a drive shaft shop in Ogden Utah that will build me a complete all new, proper 2"...

    I called the number on the Tech support card that came with the Dorman Drive shaft. PowerTrain Industries makes the drive shaft for Rock auto. PowerTrain tech guy says they dont catalog/make a front drive shaft for 87 and older chevy 4x4 . The 938-192 driveshaft is for 1988 and newer chevy. So...
