    8' bed question

If all the ice wasn't covering everything then I'd check the pattern. Seems the front four bolts differ 73-80 & 81-91. Tailgate latches & pocket hardware differ too. They will work with some tweaking though. HS

    8' bed question

I've seen the "9" foot beds on the 72 and previous trucks but not on the Square trucks. It must be custom or be a C&C truck. The beds should interchange because neither truck configuration offered 6.5 beds. How about measuring again & provide some photos. HS

    Hello from San Diego

Welcome from the right coast here in Central NC. The big crew will make for a great project platform. I have two of them myself; the 79 C20 that dad bought new and a newly acquired 79 C30 dually that I'm converting to 4x4. Keep us posted with pics. HS

    Sagging doors: where to start?

I bought a new bushing & bolt kit from Holley/Brothers for $107 recently. They may still be on clearance. HS

    Suburban frame interchange

Seems that the bore for the body mount bushings are different 73-80 & 81-91. I had some Energy Suspension bushings (30 years ago) from an 81 up & they were too large to fit the mount on my 76. HS

    Suburban frame interchange

Should work. There's a few differences as the one you mentioned but overall should be compatible. HS

Opinion thread- 81 silverado grill you like or ?

I like the 81-82 GMC grille much better than the bowtie. My 87 had an 81-82 radiator support & grille put on after the OE was damaged (I reckon). I had a 91 Sub that I bought for parts & always liked the look of those 89-91 RV trucks. So, I used that clip on my 87. There are opinions galore...

    need help! 1987 v10

Check first to see if there's 12v on the feed (the ringed wire). After establishing that check the signal wire on the plug for 12v. If the alternator is good it should charge. Also, you can use a fused jumper from the battery to the ringed feed. HS

    Grounding an Ignition control module!

An additional ground strap shouldn't hurt or negatively affect the module. FWIW, I've taken GM modules & aftermarket units apart before & those offshore brands have fewer capacitors & transistors in them. Same goes for the "brain" on Mopar & Ford vehicles. You can actually feel the weight...

    Motor mounts

It's a little easier on a 4x4 due to accessibility to the bolts. 2WD are difficult enough with no engine & even more complicated with an engine, tranny, exhaust, starter, shifter & what else may be in the way. I have done both either with or without the engine. The last was on my 76 K10 with...

If you live in PA and see this truck it’s mine!

The one that I saw had a full removable roof but had window frames on the doors. The 69-75 K5 trucks don't have window frames. IDK about Dodge trucks. Maybe someone with more Mopar knowledge can chime in. HS

If you live in PA and see this truck it’s mine!

Mopar stuff ain't common in these parts. I reckon that OR & WA must have a mfg facility close. Anyway, I found a Ramcharcher or Trailsuster while out doing DE. I'm going to inquire about it on my next route.

I remember when you had it posted. I would love to have been able to scoop that jewel. WA is a world away from me unfortunately and I couldn't make it happen. But...what do you know, another owner from the Right Coast was able to snatch it up.
