What have you done to your square lately??
I've had a couple Mustangs too but man are they small. I've got old & fat & don't fit the ponies anymore. I can fit the Galaxie as it has the SOB seat (slide over baby) so the lil wifey can ride on my hip. HS -

Will a 8.5 Camaro 10 bolt axle fit in a 1981 squarebody?
The length overall is different as well as the spring perches being below the tubes instead of above. There are no shock saddle/perches on those F body axles either as they go into the U bolt pad. The center section and gears MAY work as long as the spiders are the same spline. I just did...- Strick

Will a 8.5 Camaro 10 bolt axle fit in a 1981 squarebody?
The center section will work but it is or should be 28 spline where the trucks have 30 spline axle/spider gears. If it is a limited slip then I'd recommend to purchase a new unit and gears and go that direction. HS- Strick

Yes sir, that's "Big Girl", the black eye of the plantation! No, it's the only Ford in a yard full of GM vehicles though. It's a 63 1/2 Fastback 500 with a 390. Welcome from NC. I once had an 80 Sierra SB with 8 lug Corps beneath. I wheeled the mess out of it! Mine was a 305/350/NP205 though.- Strick

I like to see what I’m working with before working on it. I’ve messed with enough of this stuff to realize that sometimes leftovers were used regardless of the RPO or SPID. We also have to be reminded that changes may be made after-factory in the 45 years after manufacture. Look closely here and...- Strick

1985 chevy c30 cab and chassis 4x4 swap
There are many things to consider when doing this swap. The C/K30 frame is different than the K20 and the rear axles are very similar but the spring perches and shock mounts are in different places. You having a C&C means that it PROBABLY has a 14FF rear axle in single or dually form...but could...- Strick

GMT 800 10 bolt in 87 K5
Be careful & precise when torching or plasma removing the perches & you'll ll be able to re-use them. Be advised that the width of the rear is wider as well. HS- Strick

Which dually - 8.1 vs pre-DEF 6.6?
I have a '16 DMax & I absolutely love it. It pulls whatever I put behind it & still gets 10mpg. 8.1 trucks don't get 10mpg empty but pull about like a diesel. With the truck price difference & you're not transporting & mileage the truck for income, I'd probably opt on the gas version due to...- Strick
