Weird problem sbc spits and sputters till dies then start back up and its fine again

Do you mean a 670 street avenger or truck avenger? They come with clear sight plugs, but those are only meant for use during tuning. If left in place, they will deteriorate and clog up the fuel bowls with trash. I'd go though all the tuning again and make sure nothing needs adjustment. Then go...

Weird problem sbc spits and sputters till dies then start back up and its fine again

What carb? Has the float level been checked? Other culprits can be a restricted fuel filter, a restricted pickup in the tank, or a minor leak in the suction line that is drawing in air. When you are getting on the highway, you are using more fuel than just driving around, with is likely pushing...

whats every body using.. looking for a new stereo head unit

I don't remember it, but there was one in London OH. It's a Kroger's now, and has been for as long as I can remember.

    Newer Model Bed

A bed with rusted wheel openings (cheaper) would be a prime candidate for that. So it's really not even bodywork that is required... just cutting and hole drilling. @Keith Seymore What happened to all the wheel arches that were cut off of the dually trucks? Were they all scrapped, or did...

Can anyone tell me what this is??

And there we have it. Facts. A hydraulically activated brake controller of appropriate size is perfectly fine to run on a truck with a dual circuit brake system. That 0.02 CI spec actually rings a bell too. I believe it's even listed in the owner's manual for our trucks.

Differential swap / bought it, work and install now

I've been doing the same. All my transmissions and transfer cases are pretty much all on furniture dollies now. There's a few engines that aren't on stands, but they haven't been in my way yet.

    Vintage mag question

Yeah, the lug nut's shank is what centers those wheels. The washers just spread the load and nothing more. As can be seen here, shank style lugs are used with more than just unilug wheels.

$1700?! No thanks, I'll listen to road noise and exhaust lol.

What have you done to your square lately??

No sir! That's impressive looking and deserves to be cleaned up and used as a combination paperweight/conversation-starter!

    Finally found some 5x5 Turbines!!!

I get the spray bottles of "Aluminum Brightener" from Napa. The stuff works great... just be sure to use it in a well ventilated area and avoid skin contact. And for the love of all things that are holy, DO NOT get it in your eyes, lol.

    V1500 suspension question

Measure the ride height at the front and rear of the rocker panel and let us know what your findings are. Leaf springs sag over decades. Even if they are sacked, they will last a while longer. Are you happy enough with the current ride quality?

    V1500 suspension question

Generally speaking, Suburbans always sat lower in the rear than their pickup truck brethren. They actually sit rather level, but the size of the rear wheel openings and the downward slope of the bodyline makes them appear saggy. Pickups usually ride a couple inches higher in the rear so they...

    The infamous 10" bumper

Is that an FEY brand? I used to have one, with the same style top pad. I have no idea where that bumper went though, lol. I don't remember selling it.

    14bolt FF size vs 10bolt

The flat top passenger side knuckle went away after '75 or '76. So there are D44's out there without them.

    V1500 suspension question

Are those 52's or 56's? That looks like the typical 2500 leaf pack. Iirc, my '90 V2500 had the same leaf pack, 52" long. My '86 K2500 was similar, but I don't remember if they were 52's or not. My C2500 Burbs have had similar packs, but 56" long. My '88 V1500 had rear leaves similar to the ones...

NV4500? Will it withstand my 383

Due to a forum rules violation, I edited your post. Besides, chances are slim to none that anyone out there would be willing to trade off an nv4500 for a 465, even as partial trade. With that said, yes it will hold up to your 383. The sm465 will too, if you were wondering about that. Your swap...

    TH350 intermittent leak

I'm wondering if you drive around with the dipstick not fully installed into the tube (just loose, basically) if it will keep the kick down cable from leaking. It would just be a test out of curiosity. The seal itself would still be the culprit, of course.

    V1500 suspension question

Looks like a 2.5" block from here. Probably added to get rid of the common Suburban "saggy" look. Lots of half ton Burbs came with a rear 5-leaf pack.

    TH350 intermittent leak

I'm curious if it has something to do with internal case pressure. Do you have a locking type dipstick, or just the regular old one with a wobbly steel cap? With that said however, I'd just go ahead and replace the seal on the cable.

    I’m pretty pissed!!

Back when Hostess brought back the Suzy-Q, I was very disappointed in the product as it was not like the old one and for whatever reason, it bothered me enough to write them a letter with my complaints. I was shocked, about a month later, I got a letter in the mail from them with the usual...
