What would you pay for this truck?

Iirc, the original brochures show the newer style hub caps for '77.

Right, but what do you need interior space for when you only drive yourself to and from you day job? And the biggest loads they see is groceries from the grocery store or maybe clothes from the mall.

EVAP Canister Mod - Non-EGR Legal Vehicles Only

Ah, he was talking to me I'm pretty sure. @RanchWelder I'm about the most easy going person to send a text to. I'm often up at all sorts of random hours through the night. You can send a text literally whenever and if I'm up and not busy, I'll see it. If I'm asleep, I simply won't hear it...

What I find odd is, so many jeep owners seem to be younger and don't have kids. Why in the heck do they buy the 4-door version?

Searching for My Dad's 1979 Chevy Suburban

Yep, that's just a 7/16" or 11mm head that is 12 point. A 3/8" drive, short socket with an extension on it works well. Front axle work like that is definitely not an easy task for someone that has never done that type of work before.

I commend you on your purchase of a new vehicle with only 2 doors and a manual transmission. There's WAY too many soccer mom, duck collector, 4-door, automatic Jeeps out there.

    1977 C20 Heavy duty with 11.15 drums?

Yep, it's a very obvious size difference between the two of them. Anybody that has seen both drum sizes can tell by looking at them. And now thanks to @AuroraGirl posting pictures, anyone that has read this thread can now know what size they have, without finding a tape measure.

Searching for My Dad's 1979 Chevy Suburban

The caliper bolts aren't supposed to be torx, they are supposed to take a 3/8" Allen key. What bolt are you talking about on the steering box? Whatever it is you are referring to is likely just a 12 point head and you just need a 12 point socket.

    Scored Another One -Pushbar

My original guess was early, little Ford Ranger. But then I remembered the earlier Cherokee XJ. It looks like an XJ bumper contour to me.

    Scored Another One -Pushbar

Maybe an early (square) Ranger? The big Furd pickups had a much wider frame horn spacing and the grille guards I've seen on them have all been much wider, to match the frame spacing.

whats every body using.. looking for a new stereo head unit

Yeah, nope! That damn thing would have to get cardboard or something over it at night. What brand was that again? I need a radio for my Suburban and really don't want to cut the dash, but if the retro type stuff is still all overpriced annoying garbage, I may have to.

    Almost found a dizzy.

If it was originally 310 and marked down to 60, that sucker would have come home with me, even if I didn't have a use for it right then. I believe @Catbox would have done the same.

    I’m pretty pissed!!

Dang. $149? Last time I bought a stock replacement oil pan (which didn't leak), it was only 35 bucks and it also came pre-painted in Chevy orange. I guess it was 25+ years ago though, lol.

whats every body using.. looking for a new stereo head unit

My biggest question for that setup would be, how do you properly wire in that many speakers? Splitting the channels doesn't work very well, correct?

    Thornbird or Super Swampers?

Thornbirds ARE Super Swampers... There are many varieties of the TSL tire, some ride better and last longer on the road than others. As for the Thornbird specifically, I've always thought they were a cool looking tire. Now with that said, they don't get great traction in mud, snow or rain. For...

    Vortec 8100/8.1L Oil Pan

It's not structural to the block in any way, in this case at least. Just like the aluminum valve covers aren't structural. They are just more rigid than stamped steel, for the sake of preventing oil leaks.

    I’m pretty pissed!!

I don't know about that, lol. There have been a couple people that have said I should put big rig wheels on my dually. That's a very expensive proposition. Even if they were buying, I wouldn't want that. What if someone was willing to pay to have your truck wrapped, with pictures of roller...

    Door Hinge Shims

A few things: So you currently don't have a rocker panel installed? If there is also not a full inner rocker or floor pan, your A and B pillars may be even more spread out than they were before. Is this still the original door that used the washers to begin with? Or is this a replacement door...

What would you pay for this truck?

Even with 2k in shipping across the country, not a bad deal. Although nobody has mentioned that the original truck in question is a shortbed C10. That's probably the most expensive combination you can look for.

Also, never go to a brake repair shop that stands behind their work. You want a shop that stands in front of their work. Lol.
