    Towing with an old truck

So you are saying that a weight distribution setup helps with sway? I thought the whole point in it was to get weight off the rear axle and onto the front axle? The only time I ever see any type of weight distribution setup, it's on a camper being towed by a lighter capacity rig.

Yeah, it's very tongue heavy. But what does the surface contact area of the trailer tires have to do with weight distribution? With all else being equal (tongue weight, axle spread, trailer length, etc) the truck itself doesn't know the difference if the trailer has duals or singles.

    Towing with an old truck

I don't have any pictures of the normal type haul, just this light one. Trailer weighs 9800 empty. Pictured load is only around 7k I'd guess. Usually there's 12k worth of telehandler on there or something similar. It pulls perfectly fine without weight distribution.

    1988 Camaro

Dad bought a brand new supercharged Bonneville in '93 and it had factory-installed wipers with spoilers on them. They were even painted body color, lol. I still have them, but I don't know where to get wiper refills anymore.

    Towing with an old truck

I didn't mean anything as an insult. Just stating my observations and then asking a serious question. I've spent many miles pulling 31ft (plus ~5ft tongue) deckovers several states away with single wheel Furd 350's and a Chevy 3500 and never once have I thought to myself "man, a weight...

    Towing with an old truck

I've always been of the opinion that weight distribution is more suited for light duty trucks and station wagons, with no real benefit to heavier duty trucks. I don't know how many times (it's been a lot) that I have bumper pulled 20-24k down the interstate for 400+ miles, but never once have I...

    1988 Camaro

That was on the early cars, particularly the L69 HO 305. I've owned a couple of those cars and neither of them had the electric fuel pumps. This car though, being an '88 and was fuel injected, had an in-tank pump just like every other fuel injected F-body.

    Should i or shouldnt i?!!

The Coupe DeVille was essentially a Caprice in those '77+ years. But yes, I agree. All full-size cars should have large displacement engines.

1978 Suburban just came in to a local yard

I think there's more to it than that. If the junkyard has a dealer's license, they should be able to sell a complete vehicle and not turn in the title.

I've never seen one that was rusted out. Maybe most of them with skids wound up in junkyards that were full service only and none made it to the self serve yards or parted out on CL. I'm not sure, it really makes no sense.

    Should i or shouldnt i?!!

Bad advice! Lol The correct advice would be to quit wasting time with that Equinox or whatever it is, and dump all the time and money into the C10 AND the Caddy! From what I remember, those 425's were gutless. Felt similar to a same-year Caprice with 350.

    1988 Camaro

Yep, TPI was only available on Iroc/Z28 though. With the exception of the B4C police package for the RS. However, this one was very very recently (like, 18 miles ago) swapped to an Edelbrock carb. The first order of business is properly running the fuel lines and vacuum hoses. '91-'92 Z28 got...

All I can say is that in the last 20 years, they are not common to find on parts rigs in Ohio or surrounding states. Back when square Burbs were a common sight on the road, many seemed to have the skid plates.

1978 Suburban just came in to a local yard

I think it mostly varies with company policies. 20 or so years ago, they opened up a U-Wrench-It in south Columbus and they sold a lot of cars whole. It was simply just the managers picking which cars probably shouldn't be junked, then selling them as complete vehicles, without being...

    Rear glass sash rubber

I've used windshield urethane and it works really well. I believe it also helps keep the sash from rusting away because it doesn't collect debris and moisture like the original setup. However, I do drill a bunch of 3/16" holes through the sash, to give the urethane more to bite onto.

    1988 Camaro

My son bought a running and driving Camaro project car a couple days ago. It's a 1988 RS, Maui Blue paint, black interior, t-tops, 305 V8, 5-speed trans and the little rear spoiler that was only used for part of the '88 model year. Other than the bad paint, it also needs A LOT of cosmetic stuff...

    TH350 oil level, engine off

Yes, it is a dead end flow path but unless that dead end path is crazy long before it tees into the circuit, there's going to be fluid going past and circulating the fluid in the test port passage. I've never used a temp sender in the test port of a th350, but I have in a 700r4. In that case...

What would you pay for this truck?

It's too bad that there's no production figures on it. It's actually one of the more common color combos that I remember seeing back when they were still all over the place.

    TH350 oil level, engine off

I have to disagree here. While the test port may be a dead end, there is still flow of fluid with the trans in operation. Unless the th350 is somehow much different than a 700r4.

There's a visible seam there, it's just all the way up at the leading edge.
