Vintage Air Gen V (5) or replace existing compressor, etc., for 1987 R20 Suburban?

I’m with @Goldie Driver , repair the stock A/C system. Sure it’s broken now however it is 37 years old, I doubt the vintage air systems would hold up to the abuse the GM system has seen. Don’t get me wrong, I do like the vintage air stuff and that’s what I put in my build but I didn’t start...

    LT1 Swap Vendorss?

There’s a fella on the interwebs known as Lextech who can reflash the “0411” GM PCM to run a 96-99 Vortec replacing the Black box pcm’s that came in those trucks. He also has the re-pin guide he sells for the swap. I’m not sure if he can do the LT PCM swap, I looked and can’t find his info...

    Powered sub placement

Hard to tell in the pictures…. If it sits lower than or equal to the raised sections on the sides it should clear no problem. I had a pretty large amp sitting on top of the raised portion at one time and it cleared. The first picture looks the most promising to me.

What locker shall I go for?

If primarily being used on the farm a Detroit may be a good choice Really? I didn’t search for any but I’d bet there are numerous selectable lockers for the 14 bolt, they are widely popular in the rock crawling crowd. I’d assume there is tons of aftermarket support in this area. That said...

    Pollack Tank Selector Valve

IIRC If you hit one pump with power and power up the wrong wire at the switch it will do what you are describing. It’s been 2 years since I had this problem

    Pollack Tank Selector Valve

IIRC, I crossed up these two splices somehow (on “D” and “E”)

    Pollack Tank Selector Valve

I’ve seen this… Trying to remember here, but if the wiring isn’t right the return will dump to the wrong tank and the pump will squall loudly. We did it when I was doing my ****** valve and EFI conversion

What locker shall I go for?

What do you intend to do with the truck, and what are you expecting to gain from the locking differential? There are lots of options out there, also some give and take from one style locker to another.

    12v Swap Into 87 C30

There are a few different input shafts for the 208…. I can’t remember which was which though. You may also be able to swap the input shaft from a 241 into a 208, those two TC’s are nearly identical inside

    Help with grinding/whirring sound!

^^^^ This Except a dragging brake pad or shoe would be my actual first check and bearings would be second. Only because brake issues can be seen without disassembly of the hubs.

    What is this please!

Whatever it is, I wouldn’t trust anything on a truck that new that’s bolted on with a slot style pan head fastener. That screw belongs on yard furniture from the 50’s

    Poll: alternative 20” wheel options

No vote… Since none of your choices fit my style they’re equal. That being said, I wouldn’t judge your taste on any of the three. None of them are horrible

Rad trailer… I know you said you don’t want to put the winch on the tongue but you could easily fit one inside the box closest to the deck. It would be out of the weather there. Here’s the way dad fabbed up his trailer winch, usually the spare tire tucks down on top of it

    Vintage air vs. stock dilemma???

I’m guessing the “Sweaty box” can be attributed to the Florida humidity…. Arizona is arid enough that the box isn’t collecting condensation on the outside of the housing.

    Rear driveshaft help.

You’ve got a 25% chance of getting it right the first time… 50% on getting the correct end of the shaft mated to the slip yoke, And 50% chance (at each end) of getting the tube yoke oriented correctly at the slip yoke. Like @SquareRoot said just go for it, if you get a vibration try again...

And more Okay, this 3+3 deserves some mention. Big King coilovers and bypass shocks up front big King shocks and leafs in the rear, big money suspension for sure. I’m a little disappointed it had this massive amount of money in suspension and no way it could flex or cycle even a little bit of...
