    Underside of hood coating ideas?

Paint the sucker! The only “extra” thing I did on mine was I seam sealed all the gaps

    Are front wheel bearings adjustable?

^^^^ this When you tighten the nut you are adding load to both bearing sets because they oppose each other.

    Are front wheel bearings adjustable?

Hate to disagree on the interwebs but I’m gonna… Shot bearings can “clunk” in every direction

    Got a Dodge squarebody!

Yeah... Like a 6 Liter LS and a wiring kit.

    Are front wheel bearings adjustable?

Honestly Sir, I wouldn't want to use a cheapo torque wrench for engine assembly but for torqueing hubs and lug nuts a rental is just fine. Also the torque on the hub nut is not super critical, its just to tighten everything up past "Zero" and preload the bearings slightly. After they're...

Welcome from California too, about 100 miles east of @hoagster and 200 miles north of you.

    Are front wheel bearings adjustable?

Dang that sucks... I had to replace at least one bearing every time I serviced mine.

    Are front wheel bearings adjustable?

^^^^ This That minimal amount of play in the pitman arm could be drastically worse with the weight of the truck on it. When you tweaked the tires while it was jacked up did you have someone looking at the ball joints and control arm bushings? I sure wouldn't drive it if you can move the tire...

Dana 44 dust shield on backing plates

I lost a front tire a few blocks from the tire shop when I was 16, I thought for sure something would be destroyed. Nope, the backing plate from my 10 bolt cut a gouge in the asphalt and wasn’t even bent.

    Loose motor mounts? Please help

Reverse to forward clunk can be loss of motion in the differential too. You can put a floor jack under the oil pan and gently lift the engine while looking at the mounts. Also, under the trans pan and look at the trans mounts.

    Transmission paint

No…. Hung the trans with the floor jack then just mounted the TC by hand. In that picture we were figuring out how to alter the trans mount to get the motor sitting close to level and driveline angle decent. The crossmember was for a 4 speed manual so it was way too low.

    Transmission paint

Looks good from here…. I spent a bunch of time doing a detailed paint job on mine and it won’t ever be seen. You’re painting that stuff for yourself and no one else really.

Dana 44 dust shield on backing plates

I was under the impression the 44 and GM 10 were the same from the knuckle out…. Is that not correct?

Has anyone relocated windshield wiper motor

This one is Newport Engineering, when I was researching there was one other company that had a far greater looking system and great factory looking switches but I forgot their name because they were significantly more expensive. Here's how the switch ended up: The company sells an adapter to...

Has anyone relocated windshield wiper motor

I wasn't able to hide the wiper motor but I did replace it with a cleaner looking small unit that is 2 speed and variable delay. Also got rid of the cheesy mechanical washer pump and replaced it with an electric pump inside the washer fluid bottle. ETA: If I would have taken the time to paint...

    Transmission paint

VHT and Duplicolor engine paints from any auto parts store. There will be a few silver options, IIRC I liked these three colors but cant remember which one I liked best. VHT https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000CPAVMU/ Duplicolor aluminum https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000B68V9A/ Duplicolor cast coat...

    Bad Master Cylinder?

Good luck sir... Even with the bench bleed kit I swear I pumped mine about a thousand times before the bubbles stopped.

    Bad Master Cylinder?

Perhaps try bleeding the master cylinder like this before hooking the lines up, this is the generic instructions that come with new master cylinders. They also come with a few clear plastic pieces of tubing and some fittings.

    NP 208 hairline cracking

Looks normal to me, here's mine after working it over with a roloc gasket tool to smooth some of the casting marks. You can see the flange and the area below the added VSS looks similar to yours.

    Rear end advice

^^^^ This Axle seals are a fairly straight forward but I'd leave the pinion seal alone if it isn't leaking, and R&P have good wear pattern. Pulling the carrier and pinion to replace a pinion seal can open a can of worms if you don't set pinion bearing preload correctly or don't get shims back...

    Hub cap/trim ring combo

It's a no go... Has more to do with the shape and angle of the bead than anything, when I worked in tire shops the 16.5's were always a PIA to seat the beads and are quick to lose the bead if not aired up enough because most 16.5's dont have the safety bead bump to reduce the chance of them...

    Hub cap/trim ring combo

I love the aluminum wheel that came on the GMT800 trucks, that's what came on my Duramax in '05. A buddy of mine even runs them on his classic F-250, he did have to machine out the center hole to clear the hubs though.

    Need advice for doing Kilmat/Boomat/Dynomat

Looks like you got some good info already, but I'll add I don't see too much benefit in layering the "2 in 1" stuff over the top of the kilmat other than adding a bunch of weight. Either: Do Kilmat and a layer of plain closed cell foam (or Jut pad like @Nasty-LSX recommends) -----OR-----...

Brand and Ratio for Ring and Pinion Gears?

Gear set up is most definitely an “art” of mechanical know how, skill and a little luck doesn’t hurt. I normally tell people they’ll be money ahead to just pay a shop to do them but not just any shop, a specialty shop that focuses on driveline and gear services. I don’t have one of the fancy...

Brand and Ratio for Ring and Pinion Gears?

^^^^ this Nothing wrong with motive or Richmond, I also like Dana/Spicer gears. Make sure to get a gear set compatible with your carrier, I’d have to do some reading but I believe there are two or three different carriers for the 12 bolt, not sure about the 10 bolts though To my...
