    ALWAYS.......... Never fails !

Drop a tool when you're in a bind and it will roll to "Dead Center" of the floor under the truck.

What is this connector? - SOLVED

I think you are correct, Joe. I have an '83 GMC also, but mine was converted in the past from a 3 wire like yours to a 2 wire compressor. It also has a toggle switch on the dash to cut the compressor on. Always something to fix, right?

Well, that is true, forgot about that, but remembered everyone saying don't use it in MY house. Thanks for the info and reminder, Richard.

    Engine to Firewall Ground

Now that I have aluminum heads, intake and of coarse the transmission, what's the best place to attach a ground wire on the engine? Aluminum isn't the best conductor.

New to me truck/ what should i go through and look at

As well as the above suggestions......... Check wiring and/or connections. Be sure the fuse panel is safe and not a bungled mess. IF you go as far as an extensive "redo" I vote to install a new wiring harness...........

Finally got the engine/transmission set in today. It's a long process, but I'm somewhat anal about some things........... New radiator and fans showed up today too.

    Decent ball joint press

Advance, O'Reilly's maybe others will rent them. I rented one at O'Reilly's. It was $145, returned it and got my money back. Zero cost. I wouldn't buy one if I could rent it.

Finished painting the inside of the front fenders and the radiator support. (The sun/shade made weird designs on the painted areas)

    Blue Print or GM Performance

As info and my 2 cents: Flat tappet cam, better use the zinc additive. Also, if you need it....... better check to see if you can bolt up a fuel pump. The '87 - '95 GM TBI engine I bought (and sold) wasn't cut for the fuel pump uses electric one.

Help me figure out what to do with this truck

Fix it and put a utility/service bed on it. Personally, I like those. Lot of storage room.

    Blue Print or GM Performance

The Summit site tells how many they have in stock. They had 9 when I ordered, but they were all gone within a week. Mine shipped from the Ohio whse. My buddy ordered a 383 and his came from Texas. I'm sure Summit is high on the list to get BP engines restocked............

What have you done to your square lately??

Mike, I used the stock Moog coils (#6452 and Western Chassis 2 1/2" dropped spindles. I started using the compressor, but the bolt ran up too far and wouldn't go in the pocket. My buddy and I finnagled (sp) the springs in place enough and jacked up the lower CA. They popped in. Just be sure that...

I ordered my BP engine from Summit about 3 weeks ago. FREE shipping. BP charges $450 or so to ship from Nebraska. Came in a nice sturdy crate.

Finally got my new front coils, spindles, tie rod ends installed on the rebuilt control arms. Cleaned up the inside of the front cap and did a little rust clean up and primered those spots. Forgot to take a pic............ Next are the rotors and new calipers, hoses, seals etc.

    C10 Nationals, Dallas/Ft Worth

Been to the Fort Worth & Nashville ones. I liked the Texas show better than the Nashville one (even though it's 300 miles closer) Buc-Ees, What-A-Burger, Chic-Fil-A, In-N-Out Burger right across the road from the speedway. What a deal.
