Excellent! That beats the Holley part by $30.00 !! So far, so good on the good 93octane non-ethanol gas and 12°BTDC....................

    Radiator core support too tall

Dunno if it will cause a hood problem or not, but the radiator brackets are above the radiator by a good 3/8" I measured and the support is taller than the original by that amount. It does not appear to be bent at the bottom. This support is even CAPA certified............ Any ideas?? I may end...

    Another dieseling thread

Ahh, but the beauty of advancing the timing is that you close the butterfly plates a bit to reduce the idle RPM.............less throttle opening means less run on.............. Again, as I have a manual tranny, idle is set pretty low. The only objection to the kick up solenoid is that I would...

    Another dieseling thread

As I pondered things tonite, that thought occurred to me. I had taken 2° out of the initial, and the increased throttle at idle did make things worse. I rationalized as you suggested..... Distributor vacuum off the port on the Holley carb Actually, the kick up idle solenoid is an intriguing...

    Another dieseling thread

I do not have a tach as of yet, but I would gestimate the idle speed in neutral (manual tranny? to be 750-800rpms. The distributor is a new MSD, and the timing at shutdown is 12°. Is there something equivalent to the old dwell tack for HEI !!

Maybe this has been flogged to death........... Just built my 355. Compression 10.1:1 initial timing 10° BTDC, but not sure what idle speed......... 87 octane fuel non-ethanol. I can idle the critter for 5 minutes and get some dieseling when I shut 'er down. No pinging when I rev it up, but have...

84 Tilt column shaft not out far enough

I purchased a tilt column for my 84 C10. Header Installation

As I have removed the inner and outer fenders, etc., it was EZ enough to prop the header up under the engine and reach down grab it, and snake it through the opening and into position. DONE !! Now, when my proper reducers arrive, I will fit up the exhaust.

    Whatizit-wiring edition

Not it. Close,tho.... The harness comes out where you have a rubber plug just under your harness on the left side in the pic. I believe that I have figured out that it originally connected to the distributor, and the 12v power wire plugs into it. This supplies the distributor and voltage to the...

Raining here too! Looks like it would plug into distributor cap and pink power lead plug into it. I can't imagine why.............. And, I can't find it on any schematic yet. But, is part of ESC harness along with 4 prong dist. plug, knock sensor wire,2 prong "tip in" vacuum switch and ground...
