    Control Arm Bushing Installation

I have a set of sleeves supposedly for the job. I have sleeves which contact the bushing flanges immediately outside of the rubber insert flange. Yet the flanges deflect when the press is used. I must be doing something wrong....

    Control Arm Bushing Installation

I thought having a hydraulic press would solve all my problems. Maybe it would if I knew how to properly use it. Even using the (so I thought) proper size sleeves I wind up bending the flanges and causing more problems than I am solving. How the heck do you press, or pound upper and lower...

Is this the third row seat some are using (picture)

i think you will find that it is quite a bit shorter than your original. But, I am interested to know how it works out, as I am considering a new swat for my 84cC10

    Lower Control Arm Bushing Fit

That is a question for more technical minds than mine..........but, I guess it does!

    Lower Control Arm Bushing Fit

The design is for the shaft NOT to rotate in the bushing. The shaft is s'posed to lock the bushing center sleeve tightly, having all movement coming from within the elastomer. That is why the shaft nuts are supposed to be torqued with weight on the suspension.

    Lower Control Arm Bushing Fit

I guess that nothing is easy anymore. The K6137 Moog bushings were ordered from Amazon, but shipped from 2 different sources. One box is just labeled "Moog" Those bushings measured 1.006" and 1.012" I.D. The other was in a box labeled "Moog Problem Solver." Those measured 1.030"...

Question about pulling to left while braking.

That procedure is in the conventional order;however, if your truck is like mine, the junction block on the diff is actually on the right side of the banjo. This means that the left rear brake line is actually the longest and should be bled first. Something I have learned on this forum!

    83 Chevy breaks 2in or 2 3/4in shoes

I had quite an involved go-round with the brakes on my '84 C10. The truck had 1 1/4" rotors but 2" rear shoes. That dog wouldn't hunt............the rears would always skid before the fronts would engage. Tried EVERYTHING....literally........... ONLY thing to cure the problem was changing rear...

    Lower Control Arm Bushing Fit

    Lower Control Arm Bushing Fit

I believe that to be the case with the upper for sure. I contacted Moog for dimensions on both upper and lower bushings, and their dimensions are much tighter than those of the LMC supplied parts. The upper bushings are way too large also. The Moog bush is .752" and the LMC measures .760" for a...

    Lower Control Arm Bushing Fit

Now that we are getting some cooler weather, time to get to work on mt 84 C10. Suspension rebuilding is next on the list. I have removed the left side arms and bushings. I have found that the lower bushings are nothing close to a snug fit to the cross shaft. Is this normal??? The shafts measure...

    Used Edelbrock 1406 carb

My 84 came with a 1496. The throttle shaft bore was worn badly causing excessive shaft play. this made the throttle stick when the engine was running due to airflow against the butterflys. Made taking off from a stop rather balky with a stick shift as the throttle was very sticky, and idle was...

    Radiator core support too tall

Well, the saga, and it IS a saga, continues. I waited for another trip to Atlanta just to purchase a new core support from AMD...Auto Metal Direct. I had considered them to be very professional and a supplier of quality sheet metal parts. Only problem with them is that they are not opened on...

    Gas Pedal Locking up?

Does it act that way with the engine not running? I had an Edelbrock carb whose throttle shaft bore was pretty worn. When not running, it was fine. But,when running, the force of the air on the butterflies caused the shaft to bind to and act the way you describe. That's my $.02.Now I'm broke.

    Radiator core support too tall

Well, at least I have identified the problem. The A/C condenser fits, but good to the front, not so good in the back. The ledge on which it sits forms the backbone of the bottom tube, so to speak. This ledge should be flat and perpendicular to the vertical face of the support itself. the one I...

    Radiator core support compadability

It appears that upper headlight assembly differs from single assembly. I conclude the answer is "no."

Could I use a radiator core support from a quad headlamp truck with the stock 2 headlamp setup?

    Radiator core support too tall

I was a purchasing agent of metal fabrications for 25years, and I have a pretty good eye for finding fabrication errors, but I have not spotted the problem as of yet. The A/C condenser fits like a hand in a glove, but the radiator mounting has a gap of 3/8" or so. There are no flex points to...

    Radiator core support too tall

Nope. not gonna work. There are some things about how it was made that are not correct. One of the vertical braces does not fit where the top tab should be spot welded. It does not lay flat against the mating panel, so no spot weld. This had been a leftover from a shop that went kaput. Now I...

    Radiator core support too tall

Though it does not appear to be bent, the rigie dimensions appear to be consistent with my original support. The dimensions to the rearmost edge of the lower flange appear to be 3/8" to 1/2" "tall" so to speak. I will remove the core support and attempt to "adjust."

    Another dieseling thread

I currently lack a vacuum gauge. I have a cylinder pressure gauge somewhere.... I do need tach anyway... The carb is a relatively new Holley 4160 Street Warrior 600 cfm. I purchased it for my 305 last year, but did not drive it much, I have been sing non-ethanol gas, so I do not consider the...

It has been a while since degreeing the cam......... I think I have a thread on that somewhere... As I recall, Willhoite said they put 4° advance into the cam, and I instaalled it with no additional advance. It degreed out perfectly to the specs when I checked.......... Heads are aluminum BTW....
