I finally realized why I like working on my '81 C10 so much

100% true. I love my square, but I’ll say this. How many of you have taken a road trip in one? I drove mine about 7 hours round trip a few years ago to pick up my wheels that I have now. Had to take it because it was the only truck I had. They are not pleasant to ride in on the interstate for...

    GMT 400 W/T

You’re right. But I have a soft spot for old beat down trucks and atvs. I look at them and see what it was when it was new and I want to make it new again. I know it makes zero financial sense, but it’s just how I’m wired. But usually I’m overly optimistic and end up disappointed when reality...

    GMT 400 W/T

I think this truck may be a loss. According to my dad, it was totally submerged. That’s bad news. If it runs, it’ll probably end up being a woods truck ant best. And I’m probably better off putting that time and energy into my square.

    GMT 400 W/T

Can ya’ll help me put together a checklist for reviving a sunken truck? First step in my mind is pull the spark plugs and turn the engine over to get any water out. Then I guess I would move on to distributor cap, make sure everything is dry and not corroded. If it is, replace. Then, where do we...

    Outlaws and BFG’s

Ok, I may try to use them. They do have some dry cracking, but they have almost new tread. I hate to see them go to waste, I love these tires. I don’t like the KO2 that replaced these.

    GMT 400 W/T

Time will tel Time will tell I guess. My dad brought that up too, he’s concerned about stuff that maybe shorted out. Idk, we’re gonna take a crack at it. If nothing else, he daily’s a 97 Cheyenne identical to this one and can use it for parts for his truck.

    Outlaws and BFG’s

A quick google search says these wheels weigh about 18.5 pounds each. I’ll see what I can put together on shipping. So, this picture below is my truck on 31x10.50’s. Do y’all think I could clear these 32x11.50’s on the white wheels?

    GMT 400 W/T

True, however it does have minimal electronics outside of the engine management system. And, I believe it was pulled out fairly quickly. I don’t think it sat in the water for days.

    Outlaws and BFG’s

We’ll see what we can work out if you really want them. I might keep the tires for my truck. Idk. Anyway I got them home and cleaned up a little, just some greased lightning on the tires and some soap and water on the wheels. And a pic to prove that I do have a full set of 4 lol.

    GMT 400 W/T

I’m wanting to sell it to get out of the payment. I hardly ever drive it and I’m kinda at the point in my life where I’d rather fix and older truck than make payments on a new one. And, it’s not a Chevy, so there’s that. I call it a W/T because that’s what I’ve always seen on the tailgate. No...

And a couple more. Now I know she’s rough, but it’s a $500 truck, with title, thats complete except for the rear window. My first truck was a 98 Silverado, so I’ve got a soft spot for the gmt 400 platform. And I know them like the back of my hand. It’s also got three cooper at tires with about...

    GMT 400 W/T

Here you go. Now remember fellers and fellettes, this was a running and driving truck, but it was a farm truck. So, here we go:

    What are these?

Well that’s pretty cool. I’ve recently taken an interest in small specialty tools like these, never seen anything like them.
  15. bigcountry78

    GMT 400 W/T

Well, it’s green and was pulled from a pond, so it fits lol.

    GMT 400 W/T

I’ve seen quite a few of them. This one was a paper company truck. My dad used to work for a company called Bowater out of South Carolina. They were a very big company at one time. They used to run the 2wd W/T to keep costs down, but someone finally figured out that having 2wd in the woods...

    GMT 400 W/T

Well, my dad found a 96-98 gmt400 W/T, single cab short bed 4x4 for $500, complete with a title. It’s the vortec 4.3, automatic, with manual windows door locks and rubber floors. Running when sank. Yep, you read that right, the guy left it running and in gear I guess and it rolled into a pond...

    Outlaws and BFG’s

I would consider it because I like you lol. I’ve shipped wheels before, but it’s not cheap as I’m sure you know. Those were steel wheels, these being aluminum should be lighter and cheaper. It’ll be next week before I can go get them, but if you want them that bad we’ll see what we can work out.

    Outlaws and BFG’s

Oh well I didn’t think about them being clear coated. With that being the case, I’ll scrub them and leave it at that. I’m not trying to strip the clear coat.

    Outlaws and BFG’s

Y’all think these would clean up easily with a buffer ball and some polish? I’m not one for polishing wheels, but these look like they would be fairly easy since they have a flat face. Might give them a quick buff.

Lol I can’t help you live halfway across the nation. That’s a sexy 19 though.

    Outlaws and BFG’s

I have a set of Outlaw rims and BFG all terrains from a parts truck. I think they are 15x10 wheels and 32x11.50 tires. The tires do have some dry rot, but I’d run them. I’d have to put in longer wheel studs to run aluminum wheels, and I don’t want to do that so I’m sticking with my steel wheels...

    BC’s boat/dumpster fire thread

The saga continues….. Well my son decided that he wanted to play football and baseball this fall, and since I work every other weekend, all the pontoon has done is sit in the yard. Dad wanted it back under a shed, so he took it back to his house. But, it went back with a new radio, running...
