That is something I would also like to learn how to do, but that's definitely one thing for the daily that I'll hand off to a pro. I'll find a junkyard core to do myself and then swap in to see if I did it right lol

What have you done to your square lately??

Oooo, good point. That I'm not sure of. Maybe if you knew what lifters you had, you could use those specs but without knowing what lifters, I'm not sure you could

I already open the wrong drawer every time, what's it matter!?

That's a very good point. Since I have the debilitating car guy disease, this doesn't even factor into my considerations when buying or giving advice. I forget that some people don't enjoy/want to work on/improve/mod a vehicle lol. Like my '05 I just bought that's already spiraled WAYYY out of...

    Aluminum side molding removal

Here's the relief in the trim I was talking about for the clips It's in between those two clips, about a foot from the rear of the trim And these are the spring clips

    Aluminum side molding removal

Didn't get up to the shop till nearly 2pm yesterday cuz I was junkyarding and the guy I was gonna ask was gone. But I axed him today and he told me there's a spring clip front and rear of that bed trim piece. This is a pickup, we're not sure how the blazer's are and our one early blazer is a...

What have you done to your square lately??

I have never done it so take this with a grain of salt, but I've seen several videos (youtube and on whatever PowerBlock is called these days) showing how you can get rough cam specs with a dial indicator off the rocker arm rolling the motor over by hand. Then you can google and see if you might...

What have you done to your square lately??

I'm just getting caught back up here on the gas tank discussion. Are you saying your senders are under the bed? Every shortbed 16 gallon tank I've ever seen has the sender under the cab like soundmound's truck. Mine are that way as well. Only the longbed trucks got had the sender under the bed...

What new tools have you got lately?

I'd thought about that too. I have more sockets in another drawer too. I think once the red truck is back up on it's feet, I'm gonna do a big unload/reorganize of the toolbox

What new tools have you got lately?

Bought some wrench organizers on the jungle website to try out. Since I just bought that other set of big wrenches (and a bunch of other tools lately) and have nowhere for them, I'm gonna start playing with some better organizational stuff. I bought this 56" box 3 years ago, added a 15" side...

    Huck's daily - 2005 Z71 crewcab

Those are just the setup bearings. I think for learning purposes, I'm gonna make another large change to see what happens. Maybe take .005-.010 from the pinion and see what it looks like. At this point I think I should do that just to start learning how to read patterns better.

    Aluminum side molding removal

Yeah, I guess those weren't specific to the bedside. I'll try to remember to ask one of our R&D guys tomorrow, he's test fit our new trim. I'll see what he says about how to get the old off without hurting it

Just FYI, you very well may not be able to get it aligned with those 3" drop springs and stock control arms. I have 2.5" spindles and trimmed my stock springs a little at time until I was happy, I ended up being roughly 5-5.5" up front and cannot get the camber perfect. I got about 25k miles out...

    Huck's daily - 2005 Z71 crewcab

So I was unable to check runout on the carrier flange, just not enough room for the plunger. But I did check the backside and side of the ring gear, there was no runout on the rear face, there was less than .001 on the side of the gear where your right most arrow is. I also checked just inboard...

The other great thing about GMT800 SUVs is that they're CHEAPPP compared to their pickup brethren. You could find the nicest, one old lady owned, 50k mile 'burb/yukon/tahoe for under 12k probably
