Code 12 indicates there are no stored codes. If present, system will flash codes from the lowest number first. You probably inadvertently disconnected the battery.- fast 99

Fuel pressure? Should be 9-13 although I have seen GM TBI that ran poorly at the lower spec. Check grounds. Please do not toss any more parts at it. Part quality is poor. It is possible to create an additional problem and make diagnosis more difficult.- fast 99

Rebuilt Stock Steering Column or Aftermarket?
$1000 is awful expensive for a stock unit. Provided all the hard parts are good, switches, bearings and tumbler will be around $100. I just rebuilt 2. Guess it depends on what the goal is, custom or stock.- fast 99

87 tbi 350 popping at idle and running rich
Check vacuum, if low or not steady will be rich. Popping in exhaust has a myriad of causes. From ignition misfire to loose valve guides.- fast 99

Paint Source for 1983 K20
A semi retired friend still does higher end painting on one or 2 cars a year. Automobile completes he orders 2 gallons of base. Usually only uses one. And yes, stored properly will last a long time. Pints of color today, lucky if less than $200. Hardener and thinner formulas have changed too...- fast 99

Paint Source for 1983 K20
And buy much more than the project will need if this will be a longer duration paint job. Mix colors change, matching down the road may be a problem. Ran into it a couple years ago. There was no way the paint store [Ditzler] could match a 15 year old mix.- fast 99

Project is stalled. Cannot solve brake problem
When bench bleeding a master do not bottom out the piston. It is possible to cut one or more cups doing so. Are the caliper bleed screws the highest point on the calipers? Ricko1966 is suggesting the master may need a tag wire procedure performed. It's easy to do but takes 2 people. -
LMC Dash Pad Supplier
Has anyone bought an 81 up pad recently? One I purchased [a Dashes Direct part] did not fit the cluster bezel area upper left corner. Ground some material off the bezel. Not going to replace it but need a pad for another truck soon. -

probably a 352? Another one of those never will happen would be a Coyote V8 conversion in a 1957 Ford Ranchwagon with a newer chassis. Basically a new car under an old body. Parents owned one when I was young. Am getting to old start a project that large now. -

My interpretation of a hard hot soak start occurs only after a relatively short period of time. In the area of 15 minutes. AC Condenser - Should I use New Or Original.
Agree, except today original rubber parts are 40-50 years old. Would be advisable to replace with barrier hose and all new o-rings. Another consideration is increased efficiency of new design compressors. -

Replacing stock clock with small tachometer in 83 C20
I installed a mechanical temp gauge through the bezel and cut out the cluster housing as needed for clearance. Hole in bezel was made tight so gauge couldn't move or fall out. Might be a little crude for you but looked fine once it was all assembled. Only problem was dealing with the gauge any...- fast 99

Head versus manifold coolant temps
Had a mechanical sender in the head on a 350. Averaged 10-15 degrees hotter than the stat. In other words with a 190 stat head was around 205. I would assume a BB would do the same but how much of a split? don't know.- fast 99

Thinking about a new smaller steering wheel, comfort grip or forever sharp?
Had one from a 70's Camaro fit perfect no modifications. Saved the stock wheel. -
Quadrajet rebuild problems
Couple of alternate methods to clean out idle passages. Using carb cleaner spray into mixture screw holes and or air pressure. Another one is crossing #5 and #7 plug wires then hitting throttle momentarily. Engine will backfire, sometimes dislodging the obstruction.- fast 99

K20 upgrades. EDELBROCK AVS II. Why so negative ?
Agree q jets are becoming harder and more expensive to rebuild. Last q jet I did took 2 cores to make 1 carb. Choke housing was bent, metering rod adjuster stuck. Just checked at NAPA. Kits are available.........expensive but available. I actually prefer NAPA kits over some others. Today...- fast 99

O2 sensor question
With the proper release tool wires can be removed from connector and re-installed. It's a common repair procedure for bad connections.- fast 99
