What compressor/gas?
Mitchell shows it originally came with R12, 3.25 lbs. If converting to 134 A some changes will need to be done for it to be successful. Tell us what is available in your country then we can help with a change over and recharge. At the very least it will need an O ring kit, orifice tube, and drier.- fast 99

240Z you say? Owned several of those back when they were new. Was fresh out of high school doing wreck rebuilds. 71 240Z 73 & 74 260Z 79 280ZX. Really like the injected ones better for everyday. Wish I would have held onto at least one but sad to say they went down the road along with the 64 VW bug.- fast 99

(Advice) PCV Valve strange issue.
Gat an AC Delco or GM PCV. Have seen that many times. Rattling PCV will not flow as designed either. A replacement PCV will not fix the oil use. Is the baffle in place? Excessive blow by?- fast 99

Ignition switch upgrade
Good point could do both. Owned an 89 Maxima stolen from work. Although rudimentary it had an audible alarm, didn't slow them down. However, this group was more of a professional nature. Borrowed the car to make a drug run to Idaho. Reason I know that is the police got in a chase the next week... -

Could do that but using a low amp circuit is easter. Splice access is on steering column, short wire run. Of course everything will need to be hidden. Thieves for the most part are not very smart. Kids on a joy ride or meth users. Did see a SB stripped to the bare frame once but don't think that... -

six cylinder won't start in the morning
Really can't guess when diagnosing. I personally had 2 new fuel pumps on the same SB that worked for about 15 miles before pooping the bed. Start with basics then move on to more obscure or expensive possibilities. Fuel, intake, compression, spark, exhaust.- fast 99

79 k10 th350, Dies when put into gear
Does sound like a fuel issue. Didn't say what carb? Check fuel pressure and volume. Its possible crud got in an idle circuit. Take idle screws out, squirt in a little carb cleaner and reinstall the screws where they were. Check vacuum leaks.- fast 99

Stalling Issue
Sounds like a fuel supply issue. When you press on the brake or use PS it adds drag on the motor. Check fuel pressure, volume and filter. What condition is the fuel? Today's pump gas starts to degrade in 3 months. It may have a HB problem due to pulsation but shouldn't cause stalling. Later...- fast 99

Supply and demand, just a guess. Unless you know the existing part is bad I would reuse it. Parts today are mostly offshore and poor quality. GM used is better than China new. Rock auto has it for just over $200, NAPA was way more than $300 depending on discount.- fast 99

Terrible gap
Keep in mind good panel fit at GM was a suggestion. Compared to today's vehicles it was horrible. Have to bend, shim, and accept lesser of the evils. No 2 panels were ever the same. Fenders are wider in back shims need to come out. A pry bar will work to modify the rear upper fender corner. That...- fast 99

Areas in the rear upper corners of the fenders, pry bar, hammer and block of wood are your friend. Are all the shims out at the rear upper mounting? There shouldn't be any shims where the core support meets the fender but if there's no shims to take out in the rear adding some shims to the...- fast 99

Help me Tom Cruise.. Fuel or Spark Issue??
Really should have come here before shot gunning the problem. Replacing all those parts it is possible to screw up, making diagnosis harder. Check compression, are the plugs black? Being that rich will dilute oil with gas. Obviously need to get that carb fixed but only after diagnosing engine...- fast 99

Stripped fuel filter
Assume the filter in the mid q jet housing? There used to be repair kits. Problem with cross threading is the gasket won't seal. JB or any other sealer won't fix it. Most times either got it threaded straight or tossed the carb.- fast 99

Emissions back then were not the same between states and GVW changed requirement. Options might change it as well, such as high altitude. I have an 81 K20 LD 3/4 ton with a cat and an 85 K20 HD without a cat, same engines.- fast 99

Using that analogy on a 2-line system wouldn't a new pump drawing fuel to a lower vacuum cause more vapor lock problems not less? Everything else concur.- fast 99

Anyone leave their door springs off on purpose?
Haven't tried leaving them off but I did own a commercial company where SB doors were opened and closed more than anyone would in private use. As long as the hinges were lubed and adjusted properly never had an issue. Later R/V style was another story.- fast 99

Vapor lock more times than not is caused by low fuel pressure. Think of it like a pressure cooker. Boiling point increases with pressure. Today's fuel is not designed for carbs, exacerbating any low fuel pressure issues.- fast 99
