What have you done to your square lately??

Do I see a '63 Galaxy behind that lifted 4x4? You "can not" get rid of weak links, only move them up or down on the food chain. There is always one weaker link. The correct way to control weak links is with your right foot, and your left foot if you drive a stick.

    3 minute battery life…?

You are righ about not seeing the cable corrosion. That is why I stated check the voltage drop on the cables. If the OP doesn't know how, they should ask. If the cables don't have a voltage drop then new cables are a waste of money.

    3 minute battery life…?

Marine battery is the wrong battery. May not be the problem, but usually marine batteries do not have a lot of cold cranking amps. Did you check the charge in the battery after sitting a year? Next thing to check is the voltage drop in both battery cables, one at a time.

What new tools have you got lately?

Well I don't have 4 drill presses, but this Craftsman does have the optional King Seeley variable (infinite) speed control. This thing is so stout, I bought a small x,y vise to do a little milling work. Chuck in an end mill and go.

Mouse damage? Mice teeth constantly grow like some other animals. Once a mouse figures out primary wire works well for teeth sharping, it becomes their go to instead sticks and stones.
