    The older you get the more you begin to appreciate those annoying buzzers & reminders. After 2 dead batteries, I found and installed a buzzer. No more dead batteries. They say your memory is the second thing to go. I can't remember the first.

    I'm serious. This is an area I know nothing about. I thought all long beds would be the same so it didn't matter what got bolted to them. I did not know chassis cabs were different. Geez, so judgemental. Lol

    I like the aluminum blocks better than the stupid OEM spacers. FWIW, those blocks could be made out of plastic and still be overkill. The only stress on them is whatever compressive load is created by how much the bolt is tightened. As far as corrosion, have you seen Auroragirls truck? :mfr_omg:

    My buddy asked me if I could weld up some 3/16 holes in the trunk of his 69 442 this weekend. I have a 120V mig welder that I use 99% of the time. I told him I could but I didn't want to. I know how finiky welding thin sheet metal can be. It's not hard to make a 3/16th hole into a 1/2 inch hole...

    I call Uncle @bucket, my mouth got disengaged from my brain. I just went out and had a look see. My bad. Carry on. However, I stand firm on ditching the cheesy spacers. Grade 8, 7/16 bolts have served me well.

    K20 longbed. I absolutely hated the Detroit on pavement so much that I pulled it and gave it away. Was annoying with the auto trans, unlivable after the manual swap.
