    perhaps you should just try a different wheel offset? Seems a lot easier because finding a slimmer axle is going to be not too easy and it will most likely require relocating axle pads and stuff.

    I don't think the NP203 used trans fluid that was shared with the automatic transmissions but rather something in the range of motor oil, not gear oil though. I'm not 100 % sure on the mix though and can't really verify that.

    Not sure what GM was thinking or why but I have noticed that usually GM Diesel axles (like the half ton 10 bolts and what not) usually have absurdly tall gearing, like in the range of 2.72 or best 3.08. I'd avoid them unless you already have plans on rebuilding them and putting better gear...

I think there is some things that glossed over in the chart that people forget and that it doesn't compensate for OD, and the thing about that is OD is not for optimum power, but rather for optimum cruising...

    If he has the right gearing it will be ok for daily driving, towing, and mild wheeling. If he puts the truck in a situation where the tires are wedged in and using some serious torque or like the gas pedal is a light switch then yes, there is going to be some carnage, lol.

    There is a sensor they have that is just VSS and also another one that is able to do both. In my case I have a cluster out of a 91 4 x 4 Blazer so I'm using the Dakota SEN-01 on my swap. It will be setup to run to the PCM and then the PCM provides the output to the VSS speedo.

    I would jack the back end up, take the tires off, and measure with just the axles if there was no other option. In that regard go for the greatest rating on the drag range.
