Can your granny open your trucks door?
I've had 4 of these squarebody since 1988. I never had an issue opening them. Only thing that has broken on one of my trucks was that tension spring inside the button. Just allowed that push button knob to waller around some.... -

How does this leak
Plug is called a Welch plug. Some have a vent hole, some do not. I've only worked on about 6 of these on squarebodys, and none had the sleeve inside the tailshaft housing.....- BadBowtie

I bought some noise dampening material to peel and stick, and put in that pocket. I have seen a few guys in here stuff insulation material in the cab corner pocket too, right behind the speakers. -

I bought really good (bigger magnet) Pioneer 4x10s, placed on stock brackets, and they hit our 1984 stock cab sheetmetal. I think I will make two cuts on our cab and roll the inner edges back for clearance. Those 6x9 aftermarket brackets look like they twist/turn the speakers, just enough, that... -

Added factory style body molding
That's correct. The 1989-91 SUVs had those molded, rear corners. These helped move the molding down lower. Below the fuel door even. The tailgates & barn doors only used that top chrome "piping" on their bottom edge.... -
Rear brakes are giving me fits.
Still depends on if this 1987 has standard duty 11" brakes or the optional HD brakes. Build sheet code will answer that- If the rear axle wasn't also swapped somewhere in it's lifetime. I would THINK with that drivetrain option she has the smaller 11" light duty brake system. Checkout those...- BadBowtie

I installed a 1973/74 stock transmission crossmember (non-catalytic converter) on my 1983 Silverado, an original 700R4 truck. I threw away those left & right upper side braces all together. I didn't have to drill any extra holes in my frame. The 1973/74 straight transmission crossmember...- BadBowtie

700R4 question
Per a YouTube search, I am currently working on installing a "vacuum delay valve" into our all stock 1984 Silverado 5.0L TH350C truck. These raise the required vacuum pull before allowing the lock-up torque convertor function to occur.- BadBowtie

Picked up my first classic truck
If she still has the stock Rochester carburetor, yes. The fuel line running into the carb has a 1" fitting that threads into the front housing. That fitting releases the stock fuel filter & spring. Make sure the filter you find is installed correctly too. Ask me how I know- LOL!! As others have...- BadBowtie

Truck dies on the side of the road. Any suggestions?
I still keep thinking about those pickup filter screens inside the fuel tanks. Imagine some debris clogging it up, starving your fuel supply. Truck dies, particles release after sitting a few days, then truck starts right back up again, until it chokes down again with debris inside the fuel tank(s).- BadBowtie
