    Let’s see your memorabilia?!

I picked this 1955 Roadmaster bike up at an estate auction years ago. It’s the original Roadmaster, made by the Cleveland Welding Company in 1955, around the time they were bought by AMF. The S/N is stamped into the crank hub, followed by the year (55) and the letter “C” with a small “w” inside...

Heat soak - your tips and tricks

I had a similar problem with my Blazer when i first got it. The engine is a 71 454 from a Chevelle with an Edelbrock carb, Weiand aluminum intake and factory cast iron exhaust manifolds. It would start right up, but on real hot days if you drove it up to temp (around 200 deg F) and then parked...

What have you done to your square lately??

Terrorized the town about shark attacks…….even though we’re 5 hours from the ocean. Beautiful night for a cruise in. Spent a great couple hours with friends listening to great music and staring at our cars/trucks.

What have you done to your square lately??

No cracks. I had stripped that area to inspect (found nothing) and had just sprayed it black. Reflections.

What have you done to your square lately??

Replaced the steering gear with a Borgeson unit to improve my steering. Had to enlist help to get the new gear box installed as I couldn’t hold that heavy thing steady with 1 arm as I tried to fish a bolt in from the other side. But with a little help it went pretty easy once that first bolt was...

I would give my left testicle for one of those big Mobiloil Pegasus metal horses. :p

I love the old ads too; great artwork. I pick up old Life Magazines and similar for a few bucks and remove the ads that catch my eye. Put them in a cheap Walmart frame and hang them in the shop. As you can see I’m a big fan of the old Mobiloil ads. (the metal hanging sign is a repro btw)

What have you done to your square lately??

A couple months ago I got a letter from my Insurance Co. asking me to enter the Blazer for evaluation as a certified Collectible vehicle. I figured why not, sent the info (a bunch of data and photos) in and promptly forgot all about it. Today I got this! Probably means next to nothing but I...

What have you done to your square lately??

Didn’t know that! Just got back after taking the Blazer for a drive; would have had it dressed up as Brody’s Blazer if I had known. In fact, may do that after mowing.

One last piece of cast iron history. Antique Griswold Dutch Oven with Trivet. The Trivet sits in bottom of pot if you’re cooking a roast or similar dish and want to keep it off the very bottom of the pot. Making a pot of Moms Chili, the recipe for which is stored under security conditions...

Took advantage of days of rainy weather and clayed the Blazer, then waxed and buffed. Smooth as glass now.

    Let’s see your memorabilia?!

Saw your photos and realized I have one very similar that my father gave me years ago. Where would it be??? In the kitchen of course, buried under baking sheets. Unlike the Griswold skillet that I use most days, I have never used this. If my dad used this I have no memory of that.

What have you done to your square lately??

Drove to Bedford VA to the D-Day Memorial since tomorrow is June 6. The little town of Bedford suffered the highest per-capita losses on D-Day - 20 young men. Great memorial. Beautiful drive, about 50 miles round trip. Blazer did great.

    Let’s see your memorabilia?!

I do a lot of cooking and baking and for skillet work i always use my old Griswold #9 cast iron skillet. This skillet permanently resides on the stove top and is used most days. The wife knows to not move it or try to wash it or put it in the dishwasher. Properly seasoned its relatively...

Lawn/ Garden tractors/ Riding Mowers, Cool Mods and tinkering

I’ve always been a traditional tractor kind of guy as they are more versatile around the farm for reasons others have mentioned. And not that I’m old, but check out my cool brushguard and front fenders I added! The alloy wheels are factory but look nice. Hmm. Maybe I am old. :rotflmao:

@Dejure Im glad it worked for you, but I’d be a butt head if I tried to take credit! :D As somebody mentioned there is a Sticky Thread on this that I came across and tried and was extremely pleased with the result. Welcome back to the world of non-slamming doors!

What have you done to your square lately??

Drove down to Chatham VA for their monthly Cruise In, which are typically huge. Tonight the turnout was heavy due to the perfect weather, estimates were at least 500 cars attended! But only 1 awesome Blazer. It’s about a 45 minute ride each way, and the Blazer did wonderful, no problems at...
