4L80-E Computer Operation Options / Manual Valve Body

This will be an interesting thread to follow... I've been debating on upgrading to the 4L80E... As for the M/C on the E4MEs... I think they can be deleted with a few modifications, but I'd have to go back through my books to see what else would need to be done besides blocking...

Yup, it'll fit the '82. How does $25 plus shipping sound? I can take pictures of it when I get home tonight.

Speaking of replacing... I have at least one for each side that are spares if anyone wants to buy them.

    broken wing window swivel

yeah... found out when I picked up my truck that mine had the same issue... there's a spring loaded stud that is attached to the bottom of the glass frame. Mine had rusted really bad and then broke off so the PO wired it shut. I think I'm going to fix mine as they're the originals and all...

    broken wing window swivel

Is it at the top or the bottom? I had one fail at the bottom. Only way to fix it is to pull the whole thing out and weld the stud back to the window frame. If it's at the top, then you can buy the rivets to put it back together.

    What tach are you running

Picked up the gauge from Summit Racing... Roughly $100 or so... After that all I needed to do was trim the hole for it where the clock sat, cut a hole in the back of the cluster case and in the gauge lens. Lots of time with the dremel to get it as close as I could. Sits behind the bezel...

    What tach are you running

I mounted a VDO 2 1/16" in where the clock goes... Really pretty and just about looks like it belongs there. I've got an automatic so I don't really need to look at it all the time, but it's nice to reference every once in awhile. I can't find the pic of it in the truck, but I know I...

    crazy4offroad's for sale thread!

Okay... Well, I think I'd be able to fix the diff, but can't seem to find parts anywhere so that puts a damper on that. I'm still interested in the gears though, but when I look them up they have two different 3.73s depending on the existing carrier you have. One for 3.40 and lower carrier...

    'ello from Houston...

Thanks for the welcome! Yeah... The woodgrain itself is pretty bad. Not sure if I want to keep it going forward, but it's peeling off in places as well. I would like to get the rust in the cab corners and over the wheels fixed soon, but I'm not sure when it'll happen with scarce funds at...

I used to own an '02 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP quite awhile back and after joining one of those boards I just kept taking my nickname along with me for the ride. I had a fun time modifying and having fun with that car, but I learned the hard way, don't turn your daily driver into a project car...

Well, here's what I started with: ...and here's what she is today with the exception that I have the grill reinstalled: Not too many differences on the exterior, but she's got a fresh heart and new shoes. Next couple of items on the agenda is to replace the passenger fender and door.

Fix Slamming Doors - Striker Door Latch Repair

Awesome! Growing up with this issue and then recently getting my next truck with the same issue I just assumed the doors always had to be slammed... lol... Now my wife can close her door without trying 2, 3, 4 times... :) Thanks for the fix!

    'ello from Houston...

Hey Guys, I grew up with these trucks and had a '77 C10 as my first vehicle, but sadly had to sell it for tuition and have been wanting to get another one ever since. About two years ago now, I had someone offer me their '73 at a price I couldn't refuse which has landed me here now. :)...
