Alrighty, trying to clean up the garage and make a few $$ so I can buy more stuff for the truck. Mid/late 80's Long Wide Bed: It's in good condition, couple of dents, but straight with no rust throughs. $250 ...might be willing to sell individual panels off of it depending on how long it takes... -
Brake Light Problems
One thing to keep in mind is that the tail light harness grounds to the bed, but the bed also has to be grounded to the frame. I had all sorts of crazy light problems when the bed wasn't bolted to the frame solidly.- SlickGTP

TH400 Kickdown switch information...
Nice! Glad it worked for ya... :D The crunchy sound was the switch contacts getting moved across a serrated area that locks in the adjustment when you reset it like that.- SlickGTP

I understand completely... I actually had to take mine apart because the old anti-corrosion stuff had hardened up and wouldn't let the switch do it's thing. Almost didn't get it back together.- SlickGTP

454 carb rebuild kit
Casting numbers should be on the drivers side main body of a Quadrajet. Usually parts store will sell them by year/make/model of the vehicle if you have the original carb for the truck.- SlickGTP

Alrighty, here are a couple from the opposite side of the pedal bracket... To adjust the switch you just push the post towards the pedal rod until it hits the metal cover on the switch and then it adjusts itself when you floor the pedal the first time. Where can I find a fuel tank wiring harness??
Best place I can think of is a junk yard, but it's just one wire. I ran a new one for mine and spliced it to the old wire near the switch.- SlickGTP

Got a lot done today
Nice... Those printed circuits are a pain. I've done one on mine and I'm just happy to have it in there and working. -
Frame coating...
From what I've gathered most people prefer to undercoat with POR15 and could theoretically be used for anything not seen by the sun. If you do your leaf springs though, just do the outsides as the leaves need to be able to slide on each other just a bit. -

454 Block ID
If you take everything off the back of the block it should have a one piece rear main seal for the Gen V and VI blocks... The Mark IV had a two piece rear main seal.- SlickGTP

TH-400 Speedometer Gears
Does anyone know where a good source of decently priced speedometer gears would be? Ideally I'd like to find a 21 tooth drive gear, but that's unlikely from what I've seen looking around. My other option is to keep my 1.3 ratio adapter and run a 39 tooth driven gear for which I'd also need a...- SlickGTP

Got the oil changed and new ratio adapter installed for the speedometer. Found out I was backwards on my math and I went in the wrong direction with the adapter. Ooops.... -

Turbo 400?
The TH-400 is a pretty beefy transmission but it's only a 3 speed. To get the overdrive you would either have to buy a gear vendors overdrive unit or go with a different transmission all together. Stock Converter Stall Speed?
Awesome... Thanks guys. Just trying to see how much I can get away with upgrading my Torque Converter when the time comes. I think the cam specs call for a 2400 stall, but I'm hoping to get away with something a little lower than that for street manners and mileage sake.- SlickGTP
