@Grit dog I do like the old bar signs! Even if it is from the land of "cheese" and not from the "Land Of Sky Blue Waters" :D

Are all 350 Chevys mostly the same?

@thecantaloupeman here is a pic of it, a bad pic at that (I took a snip from my video of it running).

Are all 350 Chevys mostly the same?

I will be parting ways with my 1976 GMC 350 (I bought the truck for parts). All original, all stock. Transmission included. It runs good too. I even got my wife to yell at me.....it went like this: "what in the hell are you doing, your ripping up the grass"...yeah, a few figure 8's in the back...

1978 Chevrolet Suburban (our old family one)

Oh man, nice rig but your right...too bad you were not able to snatch it sooner, the trim on them is really nice looking. You could get it back to what it was though at some point.

    Greeting fellow SquareBody fans

Welcome from Minnesota!! Hey, I am glad to see you put that baby where she belongs, slammed down! I just love that look. That looks like the same setup I put into my big dually this past summer. Love the looks of these old squares on the ground, especially when they are a 2WD truck! A 4x4 on...

1955 Chevrolet Bel Air More Door For A 16 Year Old

VERY COOL!!! Hey, Free is my favorite "F" word :D Nothing wrong with that! Glad to hear he got that job too, that's great. Ya know what would look cool in that car? Some vintage glass from back in the day, popular in gassers....not sure how it would actually work as a windshield however. My...

What have you done to your square lately??

I worked on mine the other night, need some new door crank components, will have to check out my parts truck. Since I am easily addicted to stuff like this, I am now also on the search for our other family suburban, a 1978 Chevrolet Trailering Special....I posted it here in the wanted ads, and...

1978 Chevrolet Suburban (our old family one)

Hey all, just like anything I do it seems like one or two of them is never enough! I want to try to track down my dads old 78 Suburban. It was in the Rochester, MN area (Kasson specifically) many years back. It is a 1978 Trailering Special, 454, white on top & bottom, tan/cream color in the...

    Under dash light

If it is the fan motor, at least that is easy enough to get to unlike a lot of new vehicles!

    Under dash light

Oh man!! Been there & done that! I was thinking it was a single contact, but been so long I could not remember. Don't feel stupid, think of all the goofy little kinda crap we all learned here! Now, if you do something like this again I may ask if you have learned your lesson. (I just wanna know...

    Under dash light

Did this particular light not ever work at all, or just one day stopped working? If you remove that washer spacer you put in there and place the bulb back in while pressing it firmly into the socket and wobbling it does it even flicker? I would do this with the doors closed and the headlight...

    Under dash light

Huh, that's an interesting one. You are using the correct bulb, right? Is it the single pin on the bottom of the light? I think.... Anyhow, what shape is your socket in? Even if it looks clean it may not have good contact, I have had that in the past. I usually remove the socket if possible and...

Block hugger headers for 455 Olds in GMC truck...??

@Ricko1966 @Matt69olds I did some more digging online and stumbled upon these headers, which should work just fine as they stated to replace the factory cast iron manifolds with no modifications needed for anything... https://www.oldsparts.com/product/400-455-ci-headers/

Block hugger headers for 455 Olds in GMC truck...??

Oh come on now, I was told once "it's better to be a smartass than a dumbass" :happy160: Sorry, couldn't help it. :anitoof:

Block hugger headers for 455 Olds in GMC truck...??

Thanks guys, I will have to keep that in mind!! That I feel would make it easier to run the exhaust I want. These exhaust mainfolds on there originally had a crossover pipe and exited out the one manifold to the exhaust system.

    Starts then stalls. Stumped.

@Squirrely Brother I think you need a dude like this to work on it for you with Odie the dog (start it at 1:04). It may not be the ticket, but this may make you chuckle a bit! (Wolfman Jack is the voice of the leader).

1955 Chevrolet Bel Air More Door For A 16 Year Old

So what are your plans with the body? Man, that baby has some sweeeeet Patina!!!! If this were my 55 (it isn't, so my opinion here means nothing!) I would leave that body the way it is, do up the interior & throw in that engine you got, get that baby mechanically sound and road safe and drive...
