What did you pay for a square

i remember in the '70's and '80's you could pick up a good runner for $500 all day long....where did those days go... overpaid for mine, but when you want it..... crew's are rare as hens teeth where i live, after searching for over 3 yrs, found one at a gov auction 900 miles away in 1997...

What size lift to clear 40s?

i question why guys slam their truck to within an inch of the pavement..... for me personally, the wheelbase on my crew is as long as a JK, for were we go, 33's on a 14ft wheelbase just don't cut it. plus i have always liked big lifted trucks since a kid, some people get off on lowriders, some...

What size lift to clear 40s?

with a 8" lift, i would put some bushwacker cut out flares on it instead. cut out flares are like a 3" body lift without the hassles (shifter linkage, fan shroud, grounds, shorter t-case shifter, goofy gap on your bumpers and box.....) i have an 8" lift with cut-outs and it clears a 42" with...

Best gear ratio for 8 inch lift and 40s?

all the more better to step up to a D60. they will shrug off a 42" swamp like a 33 incher, bigger brakes, bigger axles, bigger everything. bigger tires = bigger stress measure your shaft and spline count. my truck is a 1 ton so yours will be diff. i run a spicer 1350 high angle cv-will flex to...

Best gear ratio for 8 inch lift and 40s?

i'll throw my $0.02 in as well, as i drive a lifted chebby with both 38's and 42's. my combo is a little different than yours-454/T400/205. i have factory 4:56's and i find them about perfect whichever tires i'm running. truck will snap off the line like greased pig snot (surprised a few...

    Attaching 80s Fender badges?

most '80's truck emblems are plastic. the prongs on my factory emblems snapped off over time. just siliconed them back on, and cause they were broken, had no probs cutting them up for my cut out flares. had to cut the C on dr side and the E and the sunburst off pass side. when i painted my...

    Custom Hood Ornaments

got one of them. mine was used and a little rusty so i sprayed it black to match my truck couldn't bring myself to start chopping holes in my hood, or have some a-hole walk by and rip it off, so i got a super strong earth magnet, drilled a hole in the bottom and epoxied the mag into it. i can...
