    Good manual battery chargers?

"Smart" whateve... Alot of it is just marketing jive. Stick a "smart" label on a butter knife and they wil out sell their twin with no label.

    Bead Roller...wanted.

I was private messaged by a person with only 5 posts. So I figured it to be sketchy. He claimed he had a friend who has what I was looking for. I ignored it. Why do you ask?

    Just fish'n...maybe

Evening group, Well my C10 is for the unsalted season and my winter truck(02 taco w/250k+) is starting to make me question how much is left. Parts are becoming unavailable, even from the dealer. I've had it since day 1 and the only shop time it's had was for a frame recall. I've done all the...

A/C & HEAT slider is froze up

I'm not certain how that year is set up. My 78 is stiff cables in a sheath. So I suspect yours may be similiar. Mine too was behaving in the manner you describe. They are not difficult to work on. Maybe a bit fiddley. But the cause of your issue may be a gummed up air/heater box. If it has never...

SBC 350 Possible issues with Carb?

If you had no issues before the carb rebuild...if.. Then I would agree with too much fuel getting in. Maybe not related to fuel pressure but due to float level too high. Drop the float level just a whisker and run it. You may have to adjust it a couple times. That is if it has a float...I'm not...

    Quadrajet secondary lockout lever

Cliff Ruggles book on Q-jets is a most if you want to understand the carb. I can't stress enuf, understnding the Q-jet is so liberating. And Cliff does a fantastic job in breaking down and explaining its function.

    Quadrajet secondary lockout lever

The arm is on correctly. The rest of the linkage and vacuum pull off needs to be activated. This can only happen with vacuum is applied. No vacuum, no arm movement to block secondary movement. Rememberv On cold start, the gas pedal is pushed to the floor to set the choke. This also locks out...

    Roached FIS0

Had a chance to pick up a 92 f150. What sparked my interest was the 300 and 5 speed. My 88 was the same config and that truck could pull a house. So.... Went to check it out. It had never spent a day in a garage and the green/blue had mostly left. (Great petina) The interior was a mouse house...

    This can't be good....

This is strictly a personal taste thing....gads sakes that is U.G.L.Y. I almost took a picture (but again ugly) getting ready to pull out of Summit and 2 drag racing squares come rolling in. One was a mid 70's and the other an early 80's. There wasn't 2" between body and ground. I didn't even...

Dude...tie a rope around that harness and yank it all out with a dozer. Start from scratch. You will be money ahead just in Tylenol alone.

You mentioned ground strap...and it recalled my recent experience. So I just replaced all the seals and gaskets in the engine. The ground strap from firewall to engine was original copper. It was still intact but fraile. When completed I did not replace the strap because there were other ground...

Is that the door switch? As in: door opens, light comes on? If so, be prepared.... I ordered a set for my 78 and the threads were not correct for my year and model. Fortunately I was able to make threaded adaptors. I posted the project in here somewhere.

Yea,the Painless kit I seen was complete. Including both sides of the firewall and modern fuses plus alot of extra connections for upgrades. And they were year and model specific.

Honestly, I would get a Painless replacement wiring harness. I have used Painless for my twin rad fans and their harnesses are awesome. Each wire is printed labeled along its length. The best wiring harness I have ever used. Personally, I would grab one if my harness ever went south. And it...

    Heater box refresh with pics

Mine was puking foam "snot" so it was a must fix when I tore into the rad. And I didn't trust the 46 yo heater core either. Not that tough, just a bit awkward.

    Master cylinder gave up.

I thought it was strange to not have to send in the old m/c. As common as c10's are I figured refirb-ers would need cores.

    Master cylinder gave up.

Ok.. I know what you mean.... Sometimes, it sure seems that way. True story. A buddy of mine went in to get an oil change ans made the mistake of walking the showroom floor while waiting. Ended up buying a new Bronco. That was an expensive oil change. Better off to do it yourself. Lol

    Master cylinder gave up.

So a few months ago I replaced the 11" booster. It was leaking badly. I did not replace the master, but I did replace the fluid (dot3). About a month later, the pedal started to feel funny...as in, it's starting to go bad. Ok...fine...I'll now replace the master...sheesh... Called the local...

    Good manual battery chargers?

I have a Battery Minder. It is a "smart" charger and desulfater. Mine has revived a few batteries over the years. Mine also recognizes a dead battery, but it will still charge a completely dead battery in a "safety" mode. And it may take a day or 2 for a full charge to be obtained. But it won't...

    Refresh in near future

Update: After a couple fill-ups and tracking the numbers, it appears that a 1mpg has graced me. 11 mpg aint bad for banging around the city. Now,if I could just keep my foot out of the secondaries...Naaah.
