Well, really wasn't going to go with the good stuff, I beam rods would had been good enough for no more ponies this motor would be putting out ... Pistons are also Hi-end quality .. And the crank being forged steel 4340 most likely is overkill .. ! Aaaaaa ... Nobody talked me into buying...- dragstews

I was going to build a 8.1 for my IH .. Bought one and got it home to the shop . After big cubes, 496 budget build was what I had in mind .. Just about done with the lower oil cooler mounts .. A little more welding and dressing down the welds, some rattle can paint .. Should hang tough till I run it up on a stump !! :eek: This is what I came up with .. Could have done a better job dressing down the weld if I spent more time on...- dragstews

Steering Column Key Hazard Buzzer Question
Did this on my truck .. At the moment, got 'Tubular Bells' for the chime .. Since it's programable, might download a different tune later on .. Of course this mod is optional .. Does offer a chime that's not annoying as most of the factory chimes are ..- dragstews

Bucket Seat Tutorial
Super nice work .. I'm also a fan of bucket seats .. My truck didn't have a lot of room for seats and a console .. The seats I choose to use came out of a 97 full size Chevy pickup, reason was being kind of large they offered a great deal of comfort and allowed for 6-way power bases to be used... -

Work continues on the Stroker 496 heads .. Using spacers to delete the rotators is going down .. A bit of a chore cause the guides needed some meat removed from the O.D. ..- dragstews

Right-On ... The cooler has no shake whatsoever bolted to the top mounts ... Thought that adding mounts to the bottom would be overkill .. ?? Glad you jumped in with your comment ... It got me off my lazy ass ! ... Lol Thanks ..- dragstews

Motor oil cooler mounts are now welded on .. The cooler has the same mounts for bolts on the bottom side .. Was going to come off the frame rails with steel straps to put them to use .. But don't see a need cause the two top mounts has it nailed on really good ..- dragstews

You could keep the NP 203 in play with using a 4L80 .. The boys at 'Northwest Fab' makes a adapter plate for doing this .. Must use the Oem 4L80 4X4 adapter along with their plate .. Plug & Play ... No mods are needed to the 4L80 4X4 output shaft ... Will also need to change out the...- dragstews

Column shift in a 54 International pickup .. Was a job to get the 1975 Caddy column to work with the 4L85E trans .. Had to modify the stops since the column was meant for use with the THM 400 three speed ..- dragstews

Here be the final design I came up with .. Since bucket seats was installed had 3/8" bolts sticking out of the floor pan .. Used them to mount the cooler .. Powder coat the bracket and done with the trans cooler, but for the plumbing .. Waiting on ordered AN-6 fittings .. Good news about...- dragstews

Will be different, that's for dang sure ... Speaking of different ... Been working on other areas on the Binder .. This might be overkill (I'm good at doing dat) installing a trans cooler, the radiator has a cooler built into the lower tank ... Most likely it would cool the trans fluid ok...- dragstews
