What have you done to your square lately??

After a few hours of investigation and trouble shooting starter ended up being dead short. Wouldn’t even spark using screwdriver across it. Sooo off to orielly again while running errands with the wife and pick up an ultima starter….. not thrilled about it but it’s what they had in stock and...

What have you done to your square lately??

Buddy made me a gauge holder to test fit for the ash tray. Gonna end up putting the transmission gauge there instead of removing the clock.

What have you done to your square lately??

I got my auto meter tach in today. Thought I’d ordered a 3” but it’s actually 2 5/8” which is perfect for mounting on the column and not entirely blocking the Speedo or fuel gauge. Didn’t want to drill holes in dash. It’s already cracked but didn’t wanna add to it. Got the temp sensor...

CCV Delete on L5P Duramax – Worth It or Not?

I’m not deleting it on mine but I’m doing the vse reroute. That is suppose to put the oil back into the valve cover better than the oem. And it also moves the oil fill tube to in front of the turbo pipe and makes it easier to put oil in.

    Missing piece?

Seems like I’m missing a piece that keeps the spring from pushing thru and. Maintains tension on the linkage. Anyone know what it is, have one or have a part number? Thanks

What have you done to your square lately??

What’s up everyone. Been a minute, BUT I am about to drop the th350 out and get the 700r4 stabbed in. Just need to unbolt the cross member and get the jack in place. I ended up buying a 2qt larger pan for it, and a temp sensor that replaces the clock and looks like the oem gauges. I was...

What have you done to your square lately??

Believe I’m gonna be purchasing a rebuilt 700r4 this next week. Found a local shop that will do a rebuild for $1250 with converter. Need to check the one I have and see what input spline it is. I’m hoping it’s a 30. Gonna ask them about a shift kit, small stall 2000-2200 and lock up only in 4th...

What new tools have you got lately?

It’s metric but I have a standard set on the way. We use them at work for cnc maintenance. They are nice sets for the size and great for in the car on the road, or around the house.

What have you done to your square lately??

Popped the diff cover off this morning and cleaned it up a bit… it’s not paint clean by any means on the outside. Caked in oil because someone decided to just seal it with silicone….. ffs…. Did verify I have 3.42 gears. Was told 2.73, so happy to find 3.42. Oil was clean so hadn’t been in...

Your favorite old car/truck that you regret selling!

1955 studabaker pick up my dad had. Never ran while we had it but was a cool yellow truck I wish I had now to do something with.

What have you done to your square lately??

Had a few minutes to burn before the wife got home and we have to head out for the New Year’s party. So out to the shop I go! Got rest of the fuel lines replaced under the truck and the lines to the tank prepped for the new liens I already have on the tank waiting to go back in. Hopefully do...

What did you fix on your daily, today?

Wasn’t “today” but Sunday, changed radiator, water pump and thermostat on my 2004 Colorado 3.5L i5 I’ve been driving to work. Gauge wouldn’t get up to temp an heat was weak in vehicle. Then radiator popped a seam on top tank. Gauge back to working normal now and good heat inside.

    Looking for 700r4 for 84 c10

If I go to electronic now I would have to purchase a transmission controller also with running carb engine. Which I won’t need once I have the LS. Why I was hopeful when I found some good working 700r for $300 but I just kept missing out on them.
