    Need a hood measurement please.

Interesting, I didn't measure corner to corner. Now I can't wait to get home and do that.

    Need a hood measurement please.

Thanks, I just ordered the fender rubbers that support the hood. I should have already had them in place but I didn't think about that. Now I'll have a week to do other stuff that I forgot about.

    Need a hood measurement please.

Anyone know?? I guess the rear of the hood is supposed to sit on the rubber pieces that go on the sides of the fender, that I don't have yet. But it sits nice without them.

    Need a hood measurement please.

Ok, I'm back with another question. After moving everything around I have a gap at all four corners of .300 give or take .030 so I'm going with that. But what does the rear of the hood rest on when closed? I always thought they rested on the hinge but both sides the hood flange rest on the...

    Need a hood measurement please.

Thanks much for the measurement! That's what someone else got also. Mine is 1/16 wider. I'm still shifting stuff around and dialing Good to hear you got it back, would like to see some pics. I'm building my dads old truck to make local shows and see some road time also. I body worked the...

    Need a hood measurement please.

Yes sir, they were anything but tight. My 78 was my dads, he bought it new, I was with him when he bought it when I was 11. The A Pillar gap on the driver side where it meets the door/fender was over half an inch different from the pass side, I've never seen another one that bad. It drove me...

    Sounds good, thank you sir!

    Need a hood measurement please.

Thanks for the measurement! I guess that was taken in the same location in the middle of the louvers? That's about .060 shorter than mine is. I'll keep shifting around till I get it as close as I can and even on both sides and call it good.

    Need a hood measurement please.

I have all new cab/rad support bushing, all loose. I just learned of the hole next to the cab bushings for a pry bar and played with moving the cab and rad support around and got the gap a lot better but still about .150 wider than the other side. I'll play with scooting everything around some...

    Need a hood measurement please.

Hello again, welcome to my newest prob: I need a few hood measurements to compare with. For 73-80 hood, across the rear from side to side, measured right in the center of the louvers. I get 69 13/16. I have a wide gap only on one side with doors fitted and fenders fitted to door with a very...

Radiator Support Bushings: Is this correct?

Cool, I like that and could have used many times if I knew it existed.

Radiator Support Bushings: Is this correct?

Sounds and looks good, thanks for the reply. I'm prob just going to run them and tighten down. Once the truck is together I'll forget about it anyhow, ha. And I never saw a jack like that, looks handy.

Thanks much. I may replace my mounts or may just weld on a custom washer.

Radiator Support Bushings: Is this correct?

Thanks for all the replies. I think I responded to all but sorry if I missed anyone. I'm not familiar with the "quote, multi-quote" thing, I think just "reply" would be simpler. But anyway, USA1 said the hole in their new mounts are 1.5" so looks like mine are rusted to the point that the...

Radiator Support Bushings: Is this correct?

I contacted USA1 and asked what the hole size is on their radiator support mounts and they said 1.5" Just an update to anyone curious.

Radiator Support Bushings: Is this correct?

Ok no prob, thanks. I was hoping so, I thought had an oddball or something. Mine are around 1.720 due to rust. But the part of the bushing that fits in the hole is like 1.370. So if mine weren't rusted and I had a 1 5/8 hole I would only have about .255 play instead of the .350 play that I...

Do you by chance mean 1 5/8"

Radiator Support Bushings: Is this correct?

The hole in my frame mount is roughly 1.720, varies a little since the rust made it out of round a bit. Here's pic of the size of the part of the bushing that fits in the hole. There's about .350 difference

Radiator Support Bushings: Is this correct?

Thanks for the reply. They do look enlarged, if they are it has to be from rust, we've had the truck since new and it's never been apart til now. If I just tighten the dog out of them I guess it'll keep it from skating from side to side. Not sure why all my replies don't show in the right...

Radiator Support Bushings: Is this correct?

That area at the left arrow fits very loose in the hole. And is does look enlarged but my dad bought the truck new and it's never been apart till now. There is a fair amount of rust pitting, I wonder if the hole is enlarged due to rust? I didn't pay attention to the hole size til now.
