Why do Americans hate drain plugs? Drive line oil change queries.

I just don't think a drain plug was that important in the initial design. It just wasn't needed as a regular service item.

    Brake drum adjusting hole cover

That hole gets a rubber plug on a whole slew of GM vehicles... exactly which I don't know for sure. I've seen a lot of empty's but never seen one melted.

Could someone give a confident recommendation for a good quality line bending/flaring tools?

The factory routed those lines under that motor mount, in my opinion that's the best location. Plenty of folks have headers with stock fuel lines. Stainless is harder to work with than plain steel.. if this is this gonna be a "show" type of build OK, but for everyday use steel will work just...

What new tools have you got lately?

I've done some fork truck maintenance over the years working in factories. I currently take care of about a dozen where I work part time. The Toyotas are heavy and well built in my opinion. I remember the three wheelers were great in tight aisles, I haven't seen one in several years though. As...

1976 Silverado C10 Fuel Pump needed

I've not had any luck out of the common pumps available, Carter, Napa, etc.. I've tried three with a return line port, two of them the fuel pressure jumped continuously from 2-5lbs, the third was consistent at 5lbs but failed after a month. The Edelbrock without a return has solid 5-6lbs of...

What have you done to your square lately??

GM used different heater hose sizes (typically 5/8" in and 3/4" out) primarily to optimize coolant flow and heat transfer through the heater core, ensuring maximum warmth by reducing flow restriction on the return side, preventing backpressure, and allowing efficient convection, especially...
