    Ignition Assistance Needed

    Start at the NSS switch as others have suggested, it's right up against the firewall on the top side of the column. I believe it has two wires, jumper them together.. does it start? If so then remove jumper and adjust the switch as suggested. If not to the ignition switch, it is adjustable also.

    The three factory style pumps with return ports I bought all fluctuated badly at idle, the one I went with lasted a month. Put on an Edelbrock pump without a bypass and its supplies a steady 6 lbs. It's been on almost a year.

    They used to make a flush spray can for the lines and cooler, it had a fitting for the line. You emptied the entire can to clean any debris out of it, wasn't for the entire trans & converter though.

    What is this wire?

    The TH400 has a solenoid wire connection on the drivers side of the transmission. It would be where the white circle is in this pic. This wire is energized by a switch on the accelerator pedal. It is light orange on my '78.

    Take it apart and inspect it thoroughly. I intended to rebuild mine but.... The pitman arm bushing wears through and/ or cracks, making it a boat anchor. I bought the Borgeson unit, very happy with it.

    Where I work maintenance we've got a Clark 4 cyl fork truck the crank is broke in one journal. One end of the crank has 10-20 degrees of rotation play, it still starts but hasn't any power because of the timing.. weird as hell.

    It's been discussed several times here... a SEARCH would've shown this. It's not just a proportioning valve, it's a "combination" valve. It has the ability to warn the driver if there's a failure. The manual ones can't do that.

    A little rust on the springs? No big deal, just change the oil & filter after some run time. Spray some light oil in each cylinder I'd just pre-lube it with a drill through the distrib hole then fire it.

    I've got the two small speakers, 3-4", mounted in the center dash area. Basic 6x9s in the cab corners. They work fine, certainly not audiophile quality, but fine for me.
