    1978 K20

I sold the old girl today, I was kinda sad and kinda happy... it was a solid old truck mechanically but really lacked creature comfort an old man like me needs. :) It was older than the guy I sold it to...

    Hello & Seeking Restoration Info

Mine was just a rebuild... not even close to a restoration... I love it but I spent too much on it. I've got a friend that has over 50K in a Dodge Challenger resto that he hasn't seen in three years... it's at a shop in the north west somewhere.

Container based shop: 2 post lift placement advice?

Any type of lift needs a “footer” under the posts to be adequately safe… I know many don’t, and nothing happens until it does

What should I do with this toolbox?

I had two similar to that, one I hauled into where I work part time and set it up... I'll leave it there when I retire. The other was in worse shape, I "donated" it to the local thrift shop.. meaning I left it by their dumpster. :)

    LMC Vent Window Rebuild

I did both of mine, the window set was no problem, the outer frame rubbers are a whole different game though... they killed these old hands, and I tried every trick in the book.

    1978 K20

I'm going to sell my 1978 K20, it's undergone a fairly extensive rebuild over the last two years. It's all been documented here.. Thread 'New Project 1978 K20 Scottsdale' https://www.gmsquarebody.com/threads/new-project-1978-k20-scottsdale.41246/ The body isn't great, it's a "30 Footer" but it...

What new tools have you got lately?

It's warming up and I've got several vehicles to get clean. This little 120v Craftsman pressure washer has really helped tremendously. Quick to hook up and just enough pressure to get the job done.

Rear speakers for K10 with 3 point seatbelt

Oops, I had just assumed his '77 were like mine... but I didn't have a pic. There's another difference in these trucks to make note of. :)

Rear speakers for K10 with 3 point seatbelt

Without pics it's just wind.... The "Search" function here will show numerous seat belt discussions. Those big original plastic colored seat belt covers... in my '78 the retractors mount to the floor and the covers were basically just cracked plastic bits. The replacement retractors I've found...

What have you done to your square lately??

    1979 454 C10, Factory Air

To me it depends on the condition of your existing factory components.. Most of mine were missing and the box on the firewall was damaged badly.

    1977 K20 audio

The RetroSound has worked well for me. It's certainly not audiophile quality.. but connects quickly and has plenty of volume. I put the two small 3-4" speakers in the center along with the cab corner 6x9s...

Good R&R 16-gallon gas tank video?

No idea if there's vids but I would say pay attention to the ground wire, where it attaches to the frame & pickup, don't let the tank hang on and pull it apart.

Hooker exhaust manifolds, they're available with a couple of coatings. Mine are black and have held up well so far.

    all time 4 wheel drive

This Forum gave me the info I needed when I began the rebuild of my '78 equipped with the 203... I had no idea about that era of TCs, and how they operated. I replaced it with a 208 and added TruTrac diffs

    Parking Brake Cable Guides-1978 K10

Here's my '78 K20 with a later NP208, which is longer than the original 203, and dual exhaust. The rear ones are originals, both front are fabbed. "Have Redneck Will Travel" :)

Experienced masters, please provide restoration guidance

I’ll agree with what’s been posted.. We all have different abilities & budgets though. I started my build with a aim in mind but definitely went over budget as unknown circumstances occurred
