Nobody warned me about the MPGs on these square bodies!

That’s good to know ! They were twice that when I was lookin (but that was in the middle of the Biden inflation apocalypse) compared to $90 for a nonbaffled tanks and Holly said it didn’t need to be baffled so why spend the money. I’m not even sure if the baffle would fix the problem honestly...

Nobody warned me about the MPGs on these square bodies!

I have a sniper with the Holley 12-308. I installed new tanks as well. Those baffled tanks are harder to find and not cheap. I went with the 12-308 because they were supposed to work with the OEM non baffled tanks and the “hyrdrasock “ was supposed to mitigate fuel supply loss. With new tanks...

    Gas in Oil!?

I had the same issue with my jasper 350sbc and an edelbrock 650 before I replaced the motor with a Blueprint EFI. One week sitting and it would take a lot of effort to get it started. I am curious if anyone ever tried to resolve this with a check valve on the fuel line???? Probably a lot...

Wiring gremlin - Nothing works unless trans is in reverse

Do you have a wiring chart yet? Turn off the lights in the garage and go to the kitchen table and stare at it. To steal someone else quote here “plan the work and work the plan.” The wiring diagrams maybe daunting at first glance but eventually the GM engineers from 40 years past will start to...

1987 V10 leaking fuel after changing gas caps

I stall with an extra foot of hose. Just let it coil up on top of the tank. Don’t try to make 3” pieces of hose work. GM did that with the cab off. It’s even almost impossible with the bed off.

Clue me in on R&R Trurn Signal Switch on an 86 GMC, please!

it’s not difficult to press the retain clip in the harness with a pick and pull out the pin, but IMHO you don’t need to do that to get it through. You can turn the bracket plug sideways with the wires in it and get it through the channel. Get a good pull string and some electrical tape to keep...

Clue me in on R&R Trurn Signal Switch on an 86 GMC, please!

If you are asking how the blinker arm comes out of the column; yes it just pulls out with a good tug and then pushes back in. Make sure it is clocked correctly before you shove it back in there. The blinker/high beam/ cruise control/ wiper switch is the first thing they install in the column...

Wiring gremlin - Nothing works unless trans is in reverse

Check the 10 gauge wires off the starter and check continuity to the fuse box. (Also check resistance) If no continuity (or high resistence), change the wires or replace the fuseable link. If it is good, start checking continuity across the fuse box. The below diagram will tell which order to...

Pollack Tank Selector with AN Fittings

I hooked up my AN to the pollak valve with a short piece of 3/8 hose like you are planning to. It is the only way to get it done. It has worked fine.

    Courtesy light, cigarette sockets

The convience center is next to the gas peddle. Turn on the hazards and listen for the relay. It is plugged in right there.

    Courtesy light, cigarette sockets

The door switch gets constant 12V from the orange wire. When you open the door, the switch grounds, completes the circuit and powers the courtesy light

    Transmission oil filter and gasket

Also, when you pull the old filter, make sure the old seal comes out with it. (Green ring). A lot of the time they will slip off the old filter and stay in there. Reach up with a pick and be sure you pull it out before you install the new filter because the new one will go in, but you will...

Tank Selector Switch Dash Side Connector

The dash connectors are the same. The only difference is the 87 switches have a nub on one of the prongs so they can’t be plugged into an 85ish harness, but you can grind that nub off with a grinder and they work the same.

    Hide engine wiring

This is much better than the plastic loom, but it is not high temp like it says. It will fail around exhaust manifolds and headers. I had to wrap some spots with aluminum high temp insulated loom.

    I apologize. (Another 700r4 question)

You will smoke a 700R4 to the ground in less than 5 miles if the TV cable isn’t correct. Go on Amazon and buy a pressure test kit then search YouTube for some how-to’s. It is super simple to get it right and the truck never has to leave the garage. The pressure kits are like $25. Adjust your TV...

    1984 C10 Vacuum Can

Are all replacement brake hard lines equal?

The steel lines on my truck lasted for 40 hard years and were still in pretty good shape. I just replaced everything because the powertrain was out and it was easy to reach all the lines. I did replace all of them with new steel, but obviously this trucks first 40 years were infinity harder...

    Brake Proportioning Valve Replacement

I don’t know if they are all complete junk, I have replaced 3-4 of these without issue. Agreed, that they are all made by the same Uighur ‘s sweat shops in China, but I have not had an issue with any of the ones I have replaced leaking or not working. It is a huge pain in the a** to get the 5...
