Bed mounting hardware for short box step side.
The bolts themselves are the same as the fleetside box bolts (there weren't unique bolts between the two). Here's the brake chart for the '79 JB-7 trucks. Unfortunately the hole for the three ring binder goes right through where I want to see. I assume that is the K20 column (column 24). If so, your two choices for GVW are either 6800 or 8400 lb GVW. K- Keith Seymore

Best way to run power from truck battery to trailer winch. Quick disconnect ends.

Confusing VIN number for 80 pickup
Ackshully - it's more of a "serial" portion. The numbers were assigned sequentially, starting at 100001 for Chevy and 500001 for GMC, but they were not built in that order (Chevys with about every ninth vehicle being built as a GMC). Top door hinge to door bolt one smaller than the rest
Looks to me like the bolt that holds the window track, or maybe the bottom of the vent window. All the other ones are part number 3846202, and provided by either Lang or Ferndale Fasteners (same as the fender nose bolts). ;) K- Keith Seymore

81-87 fenders and doors on a 78, will it work without modifications
Not sure about the window regulators but you will definitely need new bumper, rad support, grill, grille filler panel, headlamps, headlamp bezels, grille trim, hood hinges, hood, cowl, etc, in order to use the fenders. K- Keith Seymore

Having said that: I suggest you send your VIN to the Heritage Center and ask for a copy of the original invoice. The invoice will include build timing, original RPO content and pricing, plus any available discounts, and selling dealer information. Then you will know for sure. K- Keith Seymore

Agree - best to visit an alignment shop. Without data you are just spitballing. But - the caster shims do come in known amounts, so you would know how much you are adding. K- Keith Seymore

What's your caster check at? I would run a ton of caster in that setup - like 10 degrees. Toe needs to be in - like 1/8". Straightening the steering wheel is easy. Just adjust the fore/aft drag link until the wheel is where you want it. It does not affect the front end geometry. K- Keith Seymore

Thank you for posting that; that is what is known as a SPID label (Service Parts ID label). The build sheet is what the line workers refer to so they know which parts to put on. They are pretty rare which is why I was excited to potentially see one. K Build sheet:- Keith Seymore

So - according to the chart above 3.73 was base; 4.10 and 4.56 were regular available options. Not special (other than being selected from the available offerings) and not beefed up beyond normal K20. K- Keith Seymore
