    dana 70hd help....4 pinion-2 piece case standard

What is it that you’re saying won’t work? Is that a spider gear kit? I realize it could be a little harsh for some people in a dually but if you want to keep the 2 piece carrier you could put a locker in it (for that type of carrier it’s a drop in like those for a 14ff)

Let's see those 4x4 Squares On Dirt!

It was long, but with 4(!) 38” tires in the rear it was absolutely massive!

    Marine 502 into 1984 GMC 2500 454

My understanding is the Mark VI cam has a step on the front for the retainer plate and the timing gear is different because of this, to run a Mark IV type flat tappet cam you’d need the correct cam gear and a button since the retainer is no longer used.

Let's see those 4x4 Squares On Dirt!

@83K31003 i know grass pics shouldn’t count but I felt like those pics, while really good, don’t completely convey how big that land yacht was.

    Marine 502 into 1984 GMC 2500 454

FYI, I’m pretty sure the Mark VI blocks require conversion parts to run a flat tappet cam. 85+ square bodies used hydraulic clutches which might make things easy (but not cheap).

What new tools have you got lately?

Like a good flaring tool, don’t hardly use it but when you need it that thing’s worth it’s weight in gold.

I don’t run around in Houston but I wish my MegaCab had an 8’ bed. IMO, short beds don’t look proportionate to 4 door cabs.

What have you done to your square lately??

@bucket @Strick I’ve never tried a top on mine but theoretically one should fit without my roll cage. I don’t plan to ever have a real top so my cage may be a couple of inches taller than it should be. That windshield cut is a scary deal! The top of the windshield opening is curved so the...

1991 suburban sunvisors in 1987 pickup? Will they fit?

My 91 Blazer (Silverado) had the same visors with a lighted mirror and the extendable panels inside the inboard end. I don’t remember if they had the inboard clips, they’ve been gone a while.

    Boxing Frame

Tons of trucks out there with heavy winch bumper set ups (I’m talking about reasonable stuff), this doesn’t require frame boxing or strengthening. That said, the general train of thought is that if you’re going to box the frame you need to box the entire frame.

    Clutch saftey switch

No pictures but it’s probably 3/4 the way up from the bottom. Iirc, there should be a thin metal tab bolted to the pedal that the switch plunger touches, shouldn’t be hard to find.

    Metal plate front wheel wells

To be clear, that triangular reinforcement is a part of the wheel well and is not available separately.

    What wire under new carpet?

He hasn’t been back online since Saturday and judging from his quick irritation in post #3 it’s probably no great loss.

Does anyone see a fusible in this pic?

No but there’s an inline fuse in that heavy pink wire where one probably use to be.
