    Aftermarket Door Latch Mechanisms

Fwiw, I put an O'Reilly's latch in my daily driver Dodge 2500 and it works fine (for years now) BUT there's not detent when you pull the outer handle so there's no sensation of release, it feels like the door is locked until you pull on the door and it opens. I don't like the feel but it was...

Anyone know what this bracket is for?

I’ve never seen one of those.

    2.5 Ton Axles for 1974 K20

Sorry, you are correct. I was thinking about the axle from the perspective of having had the hubs flipped to reduce the overall width to help making the final track width of the truck streetable. It's always been my understanding that "as is" the axles are so wide that after adding big tires on...

    Jeep steering shaft

I don’t know about the rubber but I would think soaking them like that would probably let the solvent penetrate the ujoint cups and thin or dissolve the grease.

Are you sure this isn’t a choke adjustment problem?

    454 valve adjustment

Once you’re done adjusting, hold the poly lock nut still with a wrench and tighten the Allen set screw - not crazy tight or you’ll split the nut. The set screw prevents the nut from loosening.

    2.5 Ton Axles for 1974 K20

Do a LOT of research before moving forward. Find someone that's done it on a forum, Facebook, Instagram, etc and start asking a lot of questions. Military axles are very different from light duty truck axles and are not at all ready to bolt in. Things to consider - * They have driveline brakes...

    Bell housing for 383 stroker?

Check my previous post again. Links typically display in a dark blue text so if you're using the dark background like me they have a tendency to get lost in the dark on dark display. Regardless, search eBay for item number: 286765582705 << this is the part I linked.

    Bell housing for 383 stroker?

@LJ69 you need a converter dust cover like this one on evilbay (see link below). The style you need is made of thicker aluminum just like the trans case itself, most use the metric equivalent of (6) 3/8" bolts (the case is threaded). The bars and brackets in the pic would have come from the...

15" rims over 8 lug 10 bolt front and 14 bolt

I've had many sets of 3.5" to 4.5" backspace 8 lug wheels and never had any interference with the TRE's, something isn't right with that.

15" rims over 8 lug 10 bolt front and 14 bolt

Barts typically have 3.5" backspacing. Backspacing is the distance between the back side of the lug flange to the rear lip of the wheel barrel. With 3.5" backspacing, expect to grind the front calipers a little.

    Looking for NP205 mounting hardware.

Reuse the bolts. The bushings are available from many vendors in both rubber and urethane, match the material to the motor mounts.

    T case issue?

To add... Has the engine idle changed? A higher than normal idle (possibly caused by vac leaks, etc.) can cause it to be harsh going in gear.

Got a weird axle/hub knocking issue. Help please!

An open diff will behave that way, power goes to the path of least resistance. Try holding the passenger side tire (or put it on the ground) and see if the drivers starts turning.

Got a weird axle/hub knocking issue. Help please!

    1) Axle shaft ujoint? 2) Possibly the axle touching the inside of the knuckle when turning? 3) Double cardan on the front driveshaft? 4) Front driveshaft ujoint at the axle? 5) Engine or tcase rubber mounts bad causing the drivetrain to move around?

Any Reason Not to Modify an Accel Coil?

I ran an Accel HEI Super Coil in the late 80's in my old '80 K10 w/ 350, I never had a problem, nor did I have to dig into it frequently. Just sayin... That said, if anyone wants a hotter coil with HEI MSD makes a coil pocket cover for the distributor cap that has a coil wire tower for using an...

Any Reason Not to Modify an Accel Coil?

I get the design complaint but are you really taking the wires off of the cap that much?? Of all the junk I screw with on my Blazer I hardly ever touch the distributor or wires.

    Lift decision

Cliff’s Notes; we’re happy with the BDS kit on our Jeep. I’ve never owned Tuff Country but my wife’s Jeep LJ has a 3” (short arm) BDS and it rides nicely. All of the parts were/are great quality and there haven’t any problems other than normal bushing failures (the kit is about 16 years old).

    70s frame under 80s truck

Body bushings are different and need to fit the frame, the bracket holes are different. The forward end of the 73-80 frame is closed whereas the 81+ is open and uses a bracket for the bumper. I’d imagine you could cut the end to match the later frame but I’ve never done it.

    Body Lift Question...

I put a 2” body lift on my old K10, you touched on all the hot spots except one - gas filler neck(s). I needed a little more slack for the filler neck hoses but I just unscrewed the metal necks and let them drop a bit, they stayed in the pockets so no big deal. I intended to get longer hoses...

    1988 R20 2WD TH 400 to 4WD

I’ve done it with a couple of 2wd 400’s but I used them on a figure 8 pattern 205. The transmissions I used were a short tailshaft version with a short tail cone, once removed the tailshaft stuck out 4.5”. These transmissions were a direct bolt up to a figure 8 205 with a factory adapter. No...

Best jacking methods and tools to remove wheel for offroad purposes?

Fyi, if you remove it those old accessories are pretty popular in some 70's / 80's show truck pages on FB. It has value.
