    BBC swap in my k20

There were some years GM did not offer BB in the lighter 4 wheel drives. Putting the the BB in my 2 wheel drive. I used the SB engine brackets and the BB mounts. The different holes for the mounts were there. In the 2 wheel drive, the BB needs to sit higher for the oil pan to clear the cross...

Traction aid in the front axle or not?

I'll bet that TruTrac works real fine up front! Not a locking axle, just puts the torque to the wheel with the best traction. For those that don't know the TruTrac is a Gleason torsion design. The government has been using them for over 50 years. The medium duty trucks I work on have them too...

Traction aid in the front axle or not?

I have TruTrac's in 2 trucks, very smooth operation. They do have a flaw, they don't lock well in reverse. Because of this, make sure the TruTrac you chose is for the front axle if's that is where you plan to install it. G80 with it's "govern bomb" nick name were designed for Mom and Pop...

What is this??? And where does it go

If your truck has that vacuum "tip-in" switch, then yes the truck would have, or have had, the Turbo350C. You can't see the plug from the bottom. The plug faces up, not on the side. Yes could have been swapped.

Driving lamps/Fog lights? Anyone running them on their c10?

As stated, round lights, bold under the bumper for fogs. Bolt on top of the bumper for driving lights. Best is to have fogs, not in line with your eyes. What didn't you like about the Hellas? Lights in the lowrider: First were Cibies, Headlights and fogs, cases rusted. Replaced all 4 with Hellas.

Your favorite old car/truck that you regret selling!

My first car, 1964 Plymouth Fury. Mine was white with a red top and a red gut. Wide block 318 with 3 on the tree. Yes, wish I still had it! Nice one's now selling $30,000 to $40,000.

    NP203 removal and rebuild

Yes, you are right. What could happen, on a dry hard surface with the 203 in lock making a tight turn, like into a parking space, the drive line locks up and the engine stalls. With the auto trans the truck stops moving, engine does not stall, shift to reverse and back up and unwind the drive...

    NP203 removal and rebuild

So a couple interesting facts about the New Process Gear 203 transfer case. Depending on which year owner's manual you look at, 10W30 or 10W40 engine oil was the original fluid. Engine oil, for the proper lubrication for the chain. The 203 was the first transfer case to be chain driven for...

2wd th350 output yoke center leak

Some have a vent hole in the plug. Those need the "O" seal and holder like Randy posted. There are several styles of this also, some have a spring. Since your picture does not show an "O" ring holder, the yoke you need should not have a vent hole. Note: The trans fluid level is lower than...

2wd th350 output yoke center leak

@taterdog If your yoke does not have the vent hole (un-venterd), then the plug at the end of the yoke is leaking. Like a freeze plug pushed into the yoke. Look at the yoke splines, are they twisted? If yes, you need a new yoke.

1976 Silverado C10 Fuel Pump needed

Just use one, 3 port electric valve and add a "T" Since the OP has not been back to see any reply's, there is an easy fix. Early carb'ed trucks don't have a fuel return like fuel injected trucks. The second line to the fuel pump is just a vent. You "T" the 3 vent lines together. Add this valve...

    Help, Vacuum Lines

Fuel injection eliminated many vacuum controls Not the exact year, but this is mostly correct. From a 1984 454, since you have a 1981 may be slightly different. Shows two thermal vacuum switches. I am not seeing a Quadrajet, is that an Edelbrock?

Starting gremlin that makes no sense

Look for a second switch located on the clutch push rod. GMT400's use this. Someone could have added this because the original switch didn't work. They fail too. Could have been stuck closed then all of sudden started working again?

    Exhaust

Are you talking about these: These sure do not look like the manifolds the OP posted.
  21. Turbo4whl

    Exhaust

Those stock exhaust manifolds do not work well in a 2 wheel drive square body truck. The middle exit points right at the front suspension cross member. Stock manifolds for the 305 exit at the rear on each side.

    Installing a factory tach cluster in a 1987 V10 350TBI. Do I need a tach signal filter?

Medium duty trucks of the same era could have a tach that will work also. Diesel engines could have a 0-4000 RPM tach instead of the 0-5000 RPM. Diesels with a tach needed a signal generator mounted to the injector pump line on #1 cylinder. I'm glad @bucket knew the wire color you need. Three...

Let’s see some small blocks and turbos!

Unlike some of the turbo kits back in the day that mount the turbo low on the engine, this has the turbo up high. This gives a down hill path for the fuel air mix. This is a draw through system. Pulls air/fuel through the carb. This kit only fits a truck, as there is not enough hood clearance...
