If it didn't break off flush, you might be able to Vise-Grip it and use some heat on the housing. Unfortunately, they usually break off flush. About 10-15 psi in normal operation. Give it a try, but as opposed to "a three-legged stool never wobbles," a two-screwed cover probably won't seal.- Blue Ox

What have you done to your square lately??
We had a spring let go and it punched a hole in the far garage wall sheetrock. I understand that they put a cable through the center of them nowadays to contain it if it fails. Tension springs, not torsion springs, obviously. -

I feel your pain. :( If those are metal, I've had good luck with pre-heating pieces to about 80° before spraying, and then cooking them at around 110-120° afterwards. Baked enamel finish. You just have to be careful with temperature control. You can end up with a wrinkle finish if you're not... -

Yeah, air. You've already gotten good advice on tracking it down. All I can offer is when you're cranking it and trying to purge the air to start it, don't pump the throttle. It's not a carburetor. Go to WOT and hold it so it's trying to deliver maximum fuel. That will help it bleed itself...- Blue Ox

BTW, when you watch this video, YouBoob then recommends this video: At about 8:52 they show a CAT technician calibrating a 3208 injection pump on a Bosch test bench. It's nice to know I used the right equipment when I did the injection pumps on my boat:- Blue Ox

GM is always going to tell you how great the product is. They raved about the Olds diesel too. The free-standing cylinder liners were a bad idea. It had no block deck, kind of like Cadillac's 4100 except the liners were replaceable.- Blue Ox

1986 Automatic Transmission Leak
I'd also suggest giving it a cleaning. You can use a spray-on engine cleaner and a garden hose. Leaking fluid migrates all over and makes it impossible to tell where it's coming from. It's also preferable to clean it before you do the service work Nick recommend so you don't get grit and crud...- Blue Ox

Funny, all these years and I had never seen the movie. The wife and I watched it for the first time on Groundhog day after we got back from Punxutawney. Apparently only a couple of thousand people used to show up to see Phil, but after the movie came out it ballooned to 30-40K people... -

The unholy Trinity of fluorescents. Tubes. Ballasts Starters. If you don't have the little silver shotgun cylinders, which are ancient, then put a fresh set of tubes in the fixture . If it doesn't fire up, do yourself a favor and just $#itcan the ballasts and rewire for 120VAC Bypass LEDs. -

Fuel supply, fuel supply, fuel supply. Everything I'm seeing there is low fuel pressure or air. As @ChuckN said dump the return into a bucket, or temporarily replace with a clear hose to observe bubbles. You shouldn't see more than champagne bubbles in it. I went through all of the variations with an ammeter and, again, the inductive load from the ballast transformer (magnetics or electronics) was responsible for most of the energy consumption. Changing the wattage of the florescent tubes made a trivial difference. Why you'd want all that extra... -

That's a good point. I marked my fixtures at the socket as 120VAC. Hopefully the next unfortunate will understand that. BTW, when I did my retrofits we compared ballast bypass with ballast compatible and florescent and the difference was significant. The lamps are a relatively minor cost... -

I rewired all our 8ft fixtures in the shop and office for ballast-less LED tubes from Home Depot about three years ago. When we were still operating full-time they were on 40+ hrs a week and they're still working great. Not the cheapest, but at the time I wasn't seeing any decent 8 ft...
