Want to swap my 6.2 hard to start

I'm going to regret this, but have you diagnosed the hard start, or you just don't want the diesel?

    Barn find 6.2 precautionary measures

A stuck injector will sound like a rod coming out of the block. With the engine idling, loosen the injector lines one at a time. When the knock stops, you've found the culprit.

What have you done to your square lately??

Agree in principle, and I don't want to sound like a bunny hugger. But I'm wondering how much lead is in that food.

New For Me 1985 Silverado 20 6.2 Diesel

Did the 700R4 come out of a diesel truck? The diesel transmission had a low stall converter and a different governor calibration. You'll also need to adapt the TV cable to the inj pump throttle. Just asking.

    C4 Corvette Dana 44 3.33 gear

That's why I'm looking at it. Specs say it's different than the earlier ones and I need to figure out what's different, and will it matter.

    Let’s see your memorabilia?!

Unfortunately I'm learning that everything gains weight with age. :( That being said, I'd always heard how heavy a Garand was. This from WWII veterans and gun enthusiasts while I was connected to an American Legion organization. So color me shocked when I actually picked one up. It was so...

    Hydro boost leaking help!

Based on the rust, unless you have water in your P/S fluid I'd go with the master is leaking.

    700r4 Overdrive

Interesting. When I was towing with mine, if I had to drop it out of OD the temps would skyrocket when the converter unlocked. For the OP, just leave it in OD unless you're local driving and your speed and gear combo leave it hunting in and out of OD constantly.

    Quad Shock Conversion Questions

Get the standard dual shocks and use the center mount on the axle and the rearward frame mount. You'll need a shorter bolt for the axle mount. Most aftermarket makers use the dual shock either way and just add another shock for the quad setup.

Here's an amazing thing about markets... If they can't get people of the quality they need to work for them, they're going to have to...... wait for it...... Pay more! Jeezus H, it's really that simple. You want to make more money, you have to be worth more money. EZ PZ.

Information on the ATS Turbo Kit

Your part number doesn't cross in Garrett, but mine has 408105-5115 on it, which comes up as the cartridge or CHRA (Center Housing Rotating Assembly) so you may still be able to get the moving parts. It shows as a T04B20 model. An overhaul kit for that should be available as well.

Information on the ATS Turbo Kit

Minus the letters and plus a couple of numbers, that's a Garrett AiResearch part number. The one on mine is probably the same, but I'll try to double -check it for you. As long as it's operating correctly, forget trying to hot-rod it. The engine just isn't strong enough to go racing.

Information on the ATS Turbo Kit

Not wastegated. Pressure depends on load. 3 psi @ highway speeds is possible. 10psi loaded at high RPM is about the most you'd expect. Pyrometer not to exceed 1200°F. If I remember when I get to the shop I'll see if I can dig up the turbo part number.
